  1. To be honest Ian the price was lower than anywhere else but their pp is twice as much as anybody else,i ended up saving a couple of quid by going else where. save money at hk, i dont think so
  2. I dont think i am that thick but just tried to order icharger from hk for £49 +9pp which by my maths is £58 so when i get to the credit card bit it now wants me to pay over £90 if that is how they want to conduct themselves over here, cannot even get their web site to work properly they can sod it, another customer lost, i am glad they can afford it.
  3. When your batt is at storage level how long will they stay at that as i see they will lose charge, how often do you check the level ie during the winter months, once a week, once a month or longer?
  4. How did you get £9pp because when i put my order in it came up with just 3 prices and £14.63 was the cheapest? You know the live chat facility they have on there site well i asked about pp and they said it was automated and they could do nothing about it.
  5. Took me ages to open an account, when i had finished my shopping 1 x icharger and 3 zippy lipos it wanted to charge me £14 pp is this right or am i being a skinflint?£14 was the chaepest by the way.
  6. Thaks Ian you would not believe the hours i have put into the web trying to find one shop that sells all
  7. I am one of those people who likes to have a good look around the internet before making a decision on what to spend my hard earned on [drives the wife mad] and my final decision is 1 x hitec pro7 1 x st model discovery 2 x lipos for above plane 1 x icharger and all the leads to get charged up and ready to fly but can i find 1 shop that sells all i require not likely
  8. Thanks Tony will have a look at that one. Some of the foamies i have heard and read about have all had some issues with quality, am i expecting to much from a foamie?
  9. Ian i will be glad to hear how you find the pro
  10. Just had a reply from a well known uk retailer after i enquired about the riot and he said " that they did not have any in and also if the quality did not improve he would not stock it again" better of with a wot 4.Now i really am stuck after looking at a few reviews about the riot which sounded okay and now to be told by a respected retailer that he has issues with the quality i dont know what to get as my very first elec.plane.
  11. Thanks Frank and A.T looks like the hitec, now just got to find the best deal!
  12. First of all is there anybody on the forum that uses the above radio,my first thought was the spektrum dx6i but i have been steered away from that by the guy who flies at the field i will be going to, he said they have had unexplained crashes on a certain part of the field and they were all useing spektrum. So useing my sum what very limited knowledge i have picked the above tx.As this will be my first tx i would to get some feedback wether it be good or bad.thanks
  13. As you know i am a complete novice, the reason i asked the question was that on my troll through the net i seen advertised batteries for rx so i was left a bit confused.
  14. Does an rx have to have its own battery?
  15. Thanks Steve for your reply.
  16. Thank you all and i have a ton of questions,Tom have you got any contact details for the ollerton group.
  17. Thanks Chris,as you know i am a complete novice at this i have done a fair bit of research on the net but i did not think that electric flying would be as technical as i have found out.Once i get sorted out with a club i have already picked out my plane,i am thinking about the max thrust riot, they dont really say its for the novice but at the slower speed it is very stable with a big wingspan and i wanted a plane that would last me past the novice stage into intermediate. The tx and rx i am hoping to get is the spektrum dx6i.I picked the 208b charger as i have read [god bless the internet] that it is a good idea to invest as much as you can afford in a good charger.Batteries, now thats a bit of a mine field with all the different makes out there,i know i will require 11.1v 2200mah and i am going with a 30c[if it will fit ] but which make Aaaaaaaaargh. Gary
