  1. Thanks for that,PatMc,makes sense, I guess. My idea is to save some time at the field, but I don't envisage charging more than 2-3 batts at a time. I presume I'm limited in any case to the 6A output from the charger.
  2. Hi all, Just got hold of this parallel charger that will cope with 6 batteries, so there are 6 battery connectors and 6 sets of balance ports. Now, how can you tell which ports go with which pair of connectors? or can you simply plug balance leads into any port?
  3. Thanks, chaps. Andrew, are you charging one pack at a time? Is there a way of charging more than one if my charger can handle only one at a time?
  4. Could anyone recommend a particular leisure battery for on-the-field charging? I guess around 40A should be plenty. Thanks, guys.
  5. Thanks, John, that's brilliant. Looks like I was forgetting to actually set the memory chosen, so working well now. Thank goodness for this forum, and all you knowledgeable folks!
  6. Thanks, I've done as you suggest but still comes up as Model 1. YakMad, do I switch on holding down the Down & Select buttons as well as bind button?
  7. The handbook for my DX7 states that during the binding procedure "press and hold the bind button on the back of the transmitter while turning on the power switch." That's fine, but turning on the transmitter takes you straight to Model 1 therefore affecting Model 1 settings. What is the procedure if I want to bind to Model 2 though? There must be a simple explanation. Can someone put me on track, please?
  8. stuart I'm at the point of attaching the motor, however I see from your pic that there seems to be only a tiny length of prop shaft poking through the cowl, It seems that in order to attach the prop, the cowl would have to be sanded down to make it much thinner. Or have I got it all wrong?
  9. Come on, Stewart! I waiting with baited breath for your next instalment.
  10. Stuart, can I just jump in here and say that your excellent blog has inspired me, as a returnee to this great hobby, to have a go at Jemima myself. I'm gathering together all the necessary, and I see that you refer to 'ordinary' servos. Can you give me a bit more detail regarding size etc?
  11. Yes, Chris, exactly that model. Thanks for the comments, chaps, guess I'll just have to persevere with it.
  12. As part of my slow reintroduction to model flying, I have acquired a Spektrum DX7EU and would appreciate advice please. Does the EU have any significance? (I shall be flying entirely fixed-wing). I have studied the supplied manual but can anyone point me towards an idiot's(me!) guide, or tutorial? I'm totally baffled - things were so much simpler 20years ago. How do others get to grips with these things?
  13. It's dear old Bob Symes. Used to host a show called Model World, which I think you can find on utube.
