  3. mad dawgggggg . you been on the turbo red bull?
  4. Posted by Engine Doctor on 16/06/2016 13:19:59: Hi Ben Not knocking  you about lack of glue as its obviously a ARTF or rtf model . The manufactures are renowned for using as little glue as possible ! Its always worth checking vital points or mountings on pre built models for glue etc . I have seen many firewalls and engine mounts fail on ARTF models due to poor fits and lack of adhesive .Lucky escape apart from Acrow wot. ed .... your right bout checking .... its not glue thats used ,it seems to be some type of silicon which is not actualy bonded to the plastic ,, more like tension keeping it on . it all peeled of the mount with very little effort .my freind whos plane it hit just laughed ............this is probaly the only foamy i would buy.....and i only fly it without as3x as thats cheating ....
  5. Posted by Donald Fry on 16/06/2016 12:11:17: You are not having a good week, but at least it missed you and yours. Flying objects seem to conspire to find novel ways to hit the ground. I don't suppose you noticed if the fail safe cut in? ed .. no glue was used by me as its rtf .. or HH it seems too.. donald . i have no idea if i had the failsafe set . i never check it . and if it was set would it of made a difference ??????????????? also when this model was new the tray for the lipo came out  . after 3/4 flights which destroyed the battery , the plane only had a few marks on it .....dont  think IT cut in then either.................................... 6. so , flying on the beach last night. hovering about 10 foot up 25 foot up wind ,, a funny noise , then out of my carbon z yak comes the motor, prop and the tube that its mounted in shooting out the front , hovers a bit then gradually descended over the top of us ... heads i shouted ,,, as it went fling past us . bang ......prop straight through his acro wot wing , like a throwing knife,, funny now , but could of been alot worse
  7. this has been answerd a hundred times . throttle fs (on an electric heli is set to idle by default at binding as with a fixed wing .. you cant bind at full throttle .it wont let you ..throughout this thread its been said that fs has not activated ..(thats where the spektrum term lockout comes from . i wont matter if your a good flyer or a bad flyer, if this happens you loose controll but model dose not go to set postion .....and that my fiend is the  problem Edited By ben goodfellow 1 on 16/06/2016 08:06:07
  8. peter ... did they happen to mention if there was a problem with the first one you had ?
  9. Posted by Martin Harris on 14/06/2016 23:19:01: You're not helping Ben. Some of us are trying to be objective about this and keeping open minds. martin ,rather than looking for other faults on other components and trying to blame them , i think its fair to say the most sensible approach to ANY problem would be to look for any common components that are used ...
  10. paul .. i think that would be a good idea ,, the problem would be honesty .i suspect there would be quite a bit fudging of numbers .
  11. dave you have said this on numerous occasions .. if you dont want to comment .I DONT CARE ., im a realist a spades a spade ....they come on with holes all over there arguments and when there beat make it personal . a trend started way back in this thread and on other forums , a trend im only happy to meet ....if you havent the foggiest idea . admit that and move on ...
  12. 99.9% sure there wasnt.... would of heard at the meeting last weds .....you know what there like!!   ........ there was a glider that lost signal and flew off but that happened well before this episode (spektrum dx9 i think ) thats the last problem i know about ... Edited By ben goodfellow 1 on 13/06/2016 21:16:07
  13. as gary said it was a red hot lovely day for flying . i highly doubt spektrum was the only brand to be used that day .and also with cadmac very near by id guarantee it .. so why was it it that only spektrums were effected , it was bad set up ,a flat battery, solar flares now the military are jamming blyth .....hold...... stop could it not just be that there is a problem with spektrum ..like that has been reported carbon copy ,like for like over and over in just about the four corners of the earth.........fly low
  14. well i think thats cracked it .. the military has developed a radar jammer that targets spektrum txs ,but the others remain un effected , the reason they targeted blyth is there was a cargo ship full of spektrum txs on its way to the far east........... really lads ,you pro spektrum posse are really clutching at straws /scraping the barrel ,,, take your pick
  15. someone from our club text me earlier suggesting contact with newcastle atc, maybe they could shed any light on why spektrums keep loosing signal Edited By ben goodfellow 1 on 13/06/2016 19:43:05
  16. Posted by GARY SHEARS on 13/06/2016 16:07:25: Posted by kc on 13/06/2016 15:43:44: The models could not be 'going in' full throttle due to loss of signal if the failsafe had been set correctly to idle throttle Edited By kc on 13/06/2016 15:44:13 Im not sure if you're reading our posts correct. Well, I can say my model had the fail safe set correct and I will go to say that Ben would have set his correct last year when his plane went in at full throttle. one day some electronic gizmo you will own rc or not will go wrong and not operate as its was ment to This is fact of life not everything works or goes to plan. But i will guess there will be post after post saying fail safe not set correct rubbish!!!! repeat after me, over and over ...SAND AND BUCKET
  17. Posted by GONZO on 13/06/2016 10:39:42: Forget the aliens, have you got a very unhappy local with a bit of tech knowledge and a jammer? Otherwise I'd go for the establishment, the military etc., giving you problems. so we now have a jammer that targets spektrum only tx signals .........?????? wow   also i will add that another club im inabout 10-15 of us  watched a ripmax bullet go in full throttle ,whilst the pilot shouted ,i have nothing , and another one the other day i found out about quite local  where a ar 9020 rx was deemed faulty by hh , that one wrote another 50cc er off...  Edited By ben goodfellow 1 on 13/06/2016 13:45:53 Edited By ben goodfellow 1 on 13/06/2016 13:47:20
  18. which begs the question .....why not go to fail safe postion upon los ..ie idle/cut
  19. gary ..come clean ..you drove the heli into the ground at full head speed same as i dived my plane into the ground ....all so we could come on here and lie about it and so it would cost us thousands of pounds .........sand and bucket
  20. ok .as a very experienced rotary wing flyer you say it impossible to get wrong a statement which i agree with 101%.. yet you , myself and many many others have had planes helis quads , and what ever else default to full power. upon loosing signal ,even if it was signal interuption why not go to failsafe postion............. ,,how can this possibly be a loose wire a bad install a flat battery or what ever else the people with their heads in a bucket of sand say .....
  21. gary ,, for the ones on here who are hard of hearing /ignorant .or just plain dont know (delete as applicable ).. how hard or what process would you need to follow to set the f/s for full power on you electric heli?
