Hi All,
Thanks for the tips regarding the prop. Eventually, following the method suggested by BEB i managed to get it tight enough that i could spin up to between half and 3/4 throttle without it flying off. I didnt dare go more than this but this is much better than what i achieved originally. I will however have a go at cagey's idea as well to ensure i get it fully tight.
No, its not my first rc plane. Ive had a number over the years, the majority gliders but a few RC planes of verying degrees of control surfaces and channels. Most of the prop planes ive had though have either been pushers where the prop has been glued onto the motor shaft as there was little risk of it ever being damaged or 1 plane had splins and a nut (which was actually a very good method of attaching the prop) but this tapered collar method seemed nonsensiscle - but perhaps its just me!
Ill let you know how i get on first flight. (i think im going to have to balance the prop first though as the 3 blader that comes with the kit is seriously unbalanced).
