Wondering why you used 60g cloth ? I have only ever used 15g for this, found it easy to apply and finish.

Build in .5 dregee positive on wing. This starting point has been proved by many great pilot/designers
(i.e. D.Hardaker, Ken Binks, Don Lowe to name a few) The designer of the Bootlegger (Steve Helm)
never built it with an anhedral tail, always flat. If it was good enough for him.
You have built in some side already,
can always add more.
As for down thurst, I would start at zero and adjust if required.

Have you tried "spoilerons"? Very good at bleeding off lift

Nice work, looking foward to this one.
Steve, does this mean there is a short kit available for the "Bootlegger" ??
-
A much better way to avoid the "thin edge" is to mount the plug on a piece of
Perpex ( frd and aft also) giving you a flange about a 25mm all round. This will give you
a better edge to finish and a much stronger mold. It is also much easier to now
lay up products from said mold.
-
While this is a very interesting topic I think it should have its own thread.
-
Hi Martyn,
A two piece mold will make it easier to make a cowl of that shape.
There is very good info on the net on the subject.
Enjoying your build.

Any one got one of the Balsa Cabin kits yet. Always liked this Pete Tindel
designed model. Just wondering what you think of the kit?

Is there an agent for these engines in the U.K. ?

Hi Terence, Revenger looks great. More photos would be great.

Martyn, Why not a tuned muffler. Both Weston UK and Dub Jett make same. Way better than supplied silencers and offer better trottling and quitering running.
-
Looks like no one is going to have a guess.. Moonglow ... maybe ?
-
Very smart, just wondering what canopy did you use?
-
Ken also used same scheme on his Pacemaker at the 1979 Nats., in which
he finished second to Mark Redsell.

Gary, Check myhobbystore plans, MINI ATLAS RC 1315

I was thinking of building one of these, just wondering any progress lately?

"Qualify " Given that Classics cover up to about 1984, I would have thought the Jupiter
would fit right in. To see this design published can only help to premote this aspect of the hobby.

Good to see one of Mr Weller's designs been built. Always liked his
Titan and Mercura T.E.T.A. Will be watching with interest.
