  1. Do they take a lot of building knowledge? My planes are either BNF or built from a kit with everything included for example precision aerobatics kits.
  2. Posted by extra slim on 24/06/2015 09:13:50: You wont get bigger packs in the cheetah, my 4s have to be the flat ones, and then it is still slightly nosey, but doesn't matter on a warmliner, as long as you aren't trying to catch some thermalling. If you want out and out speed, even though I have a cheetah, the bandit would be the way to go as there is much more on the net with regards setup and I think they are a little smaller, and probably quicker. Thanks for that info, that will sway my vote then as I am after using bigger packs and getting speed. Cheers.
  3. i think i will just save a few £'s and decide wether it's a bandit or cheetah as I can't decide. But definetly on a 4s setup to start.   Can the cheetah accommodate larger 4s packs or 5s\6s packs? I've been told the bandit can accommodate larger 4s packs   i usually use hitec MG servos. anybody know which ones fit? Edited By Glenn Shepherd on 23/06/2015 23:35:13

Glenn, The UK FVK man is Brian Anderson 0191 3887649. I also have a Siren, and it's not in the same league. Yes. it's a nice smooth, fastish glider, but the built-up wings and tail, allied to the skinny fuselage (you take the wings off to access the cells)mean that mine doesn't get flown that often. tim i emailed him the other day, he said i wold need to order from the .de site directly Edited By Tim Hooper on 23/06/2015 21:49:30

A Tee tail is good for landing in tall grass as its out of the way. Also, a Tee tail is handy for hiding the elevator servo in the fin thus providing a short, slop free linkage to the elevator. Some Tee tail Hotliners don't even use a rudder, as with my Ion Neo. I suppose a lot depends on what you like the look of too. yeah i suppose Tee tail will be easier, was just wondering if there was benefits.
  6. Posted by extra slim on 23/06/2015 19:54:26: Timer set for 7mins, come down with usually about 30%, same style of flying as I do with it. thanks for that. there alot of nice "gliders" on the staufenbiel website whats the difference between the 'V' Shape tail and a 'T' Tail?
  7. I've got enough foamie planes. Fancied something a bit more special to look at lol. And capable of handling fast turns. Prob look at putting 1000W setup in.
  8. What sort of flight times were you getting with that pack? I'm looking at just boosting straight up and then throttle of and do aerobatics back down with loops dives etc, then power back up.
  9. Posted by Bill_B on 23/06/2015 05:20:50: The Siren has a one piece wing and isn't to the quality of the European models. Also, it has carbon in the fuselage which will necessitate careful routing of the Rx Aerial(s). The SPIRIT V evo and Cheetah from Staufenbiel are good budget Hotliners and could be better options. Don't forget that postage to the UK is free if paying over €90 and the DPD courier service is excellent. That cheetah is very nice and cheaper than the hawk. Decent size, what setup are using? Will 4cells 2200+ fit? What servos are you using? Cheers
  10. Thanks for the extra advice. That's why I'm here. Nice video. Yeah it's just the airframe that I have the £200 budget for. The turnigy setup mentioned isn't bad and will at least give me a quick ish model on 4cell. Looks like it might be one of the staufenbiel models
  11. Yeah the bandit looks a good choice after reading many posts etc. and affordable to have a decent 4s unit for a start. The turnigy 1100 looks like the way forward. I take these bandits aren't available/stocked in the UK?
