  1. Hello, I'm a complete newb to this hobby, but reading the threads I feel like I've learnt a fair bit, but I like to plan ahead by about a year so I can assign money to my projects. I understand the first thing to do is join a club. Then perhaps buy an ARTF trainer, of which there are a vast multitude, to get oneself into the air. I plan to do this in the summer when perhaps the weather calms down. I've had some fun with the venerable HobbyZone Super Cub, crashing it and now flying it to a reasonable standard. I now want a 4 channel trainer as a natural progression to fly and licence with over the summer. After the summer flying season I would like to build a model to fly next year. However, if I already have a trainer, is there any point building another one? If there is, would it be prudent to build something like the Sky 40 to learn to build? If not, what would you recommend? I would quite like to fly Warbirds as this would enthuse my sons, eventually moving on to twin engined planes in years to come. What do you think?
