  1. Martin, you raise an important point about buddying. I want to be able to ensure that my 8 year old grandson can receive training from the clubs trainers so presumably I will need to buy two transmitters to ensure that this can happen. To upgrade from my current Spektrum DX7's is going to be quite expensive. I was planning to buy DX8's but it is the 12 receivers as well that really puts the price up. I have been looking in detail at the Radio Link and Perkins web sites and the manuals. Also there are some YouTube videos. So far I have been impressed. Indeed the programming seems more logical than my old DX7's but I don't know how much easier it is to do the DX8. I will keep digging. Thank you all for your comments.
  2. Perkins have an advert in this months RCME for there transmitters. Looking at the specs on there web site they look very good. They are certainly very competitive. Has anybody got an experience of them. What are the pitfalls?
  3. Many thanks for the information. Good to be reminded of the control throws.
  4. I'm recommissioning a Uno Wot so my grandson can start flying. Can anyone remind me what the balance point is ie back from the leading edge.
  5. Great, I will come up tomorrow afternoon.
  6. Good morning Martin. Good to hear from you. I will bring it up to the field. When will you be there?
  7. I have encountered a problem where by my retract Hitec servo HS75BB will not work. Have tried a new one and still no luck. All other servos work fine. Anybody got an idea as what I should check in the transmitter. Not flown for a year and just recomissioning all my planes. As I get older I forget how to do things. Eddie Brown
  8. Hi Hymie, I will be most interested to see your photos and any other information that you have on the kit. Regards Eddie.
  9. This an excellent response, most interesting. It would be really helpful if I could find some where from whom I could buy the models original building instructions. Hopefully this would give information on such things as recomended engine sizes and C of G information. I am assuming that it will need at least a 90 to 1.20 size engine. One can only hope! Eddie.
  10. I have been given a Cranfield A1 recently. It is a low wing sports plane with approx. a 7ft wingspan. I would like to restore it but I know nothing about the plane. When I googled it a link was shown to a You Tube video of one flying. Has anyone got any knowledge of them, who they were made by and whether spares are available? Eddie Brown
