  1. Ok looks like I’ve sorted it.The plug cap has a simple circlip on the end.The cover is actually split and the circlip holds it together over the plug.In this case it was so tight it wouldn’t allow the cover to pass over the plug nut and latch proprerly.I removed the circlip opened it out a bit and replaced. The cover now passes over the plug nut and latches firmly in place. The plug is a CM-6 as recommended.I will run it again now the rain has stopped. Thanks for showing interest flight1.👍
  2. The plug I’m using was supplied with the engine and ignition system so assumed it would be correct but will look into it.There doesn’t seem to be anything astray with the cap internally so you may be right.👍
  3. This reply is a bit late but things have been on hold for a while.I have followed your advice and it’s worked out fine.Appreciate your help👍
  4. This is really annoying I have ground run my first petrol engine OS 60 GT mounted upside down and the plug cover connector for the HT lead from the ignition box keeps dropping off.Checked inside and it appears to be just a plastic profile which goes over the top of the spark plug inside a metal housing.Any idea how I can keep it on or if anything could be missing which could give a better grip on the plug that I’ve missed.?
  5. I have fitted an OS GT60 and with the exhaust fitted the main box of the exhaust exiting at the rear is very close (1/8”in old money) to the lower corner of the firewall assembly.Im thinking of installing a heat shield.Any advice on material to prevent heat transfer to the ply.
  6. Many thanks for the feedback really appreciate it and thanks for the interest.👍
  7. Read the article in October’s RCM&E by Lee Schofield about this gyro.I am interested in using one in a fixed wing Tiger Moth IC powered model. However there is no mention in the article or manufacturers description if this is solely for electric powered models. In the article it was tested on an electric powered aircraft. If it’s not suitable can anyone recommend a gyro that is.
  8. Just got on this build a bit late following some advice from Jez on another forum regarding servos for a 1/3rd scale model such as this.I agree John this is a fantastic build and having worked my way through the threads there are some excellent tips and scale items I can add to my 105" WS "chinese built" ARTF.Thanks to "flight1 " for the full size pics.I agree the colour scheme is naff and will probably go with silver or yellow RAF trainer scheme.I am also intending to remodel the undecarriage which is all wire in order to stop the fusalage taking all the shock.Jez you are teaching an old dog some new tricks and thanks for that.No offense taken Reg by the "chinese built ARTF" comment, it's just the beginning of something great hopefully.
