  1. I have just about comleted running in my DLE 30 so now its time to fit the cowl and see how it runs with it on. Was hoping not to need the choke when starting but fear that i am going to have to.How have you connect a rod to the interlocking choke..... how have you done yours, i am assuming ball link or Z bend and held in place via standoffs wont be using a servo, just want a simple push or pull to interlock it...
  2. Posted by Martin Harris on 14/03/2014 11:07:57: Too busy flying in perfect conditions yesterday to even look at the newsgroup - and what do I find but the momentous news that Erfolg has finally achieved his goal and passed his A - Carl, I'm really glad for you (and equally well done to Justin) and as it sounds like your club test is half way to the B certificate, why not set yourself another goal while you've got the bit between your teeth! Hang on a minute - if he has to do loops for an A, i`d like to know whats in the B
  3. Posted by Masher on 12/03/2014 07:46:44: Liam I too watch Ebay/BMFA regularly and am always looking for a bargain. Couple of points with your addd: I would immediately dismiss it because build is suspect - doesn't sound like it's been done properly - Eg you would have been better to re-do the aileron hinge, it only takes seconds but now I wonder about other issues The way you don't clarify that the engine and servos are new or 2nd hand (or genuine) leaves me in doubt The model itself is very cheap at HK So I've already decided not to bid - just letting you know my thought process Edited By Masher on 12/03/2014 07:50:43 I`m sorry but i would not have priced the engine or servos at that price without knowing more, but a lot lower, and if i really wanted that plane i could buy it cheaper new and delivered direct to my door without worrying whats wrong with it......but ebay is a funny place and anything could happen.....good luck , but its not for me.....
  4. Thanks John and WF, its not the prop and spinner I'm worried about, there on. Haven't put a glow plug in it yet and its that i am more likely to forget..
  5. Turns out my stencils are too big to use on the fuselage and dont fancy measuring and marking so may have to look at buying some. But reading this and other posts on this forum decided to have a go at putting some markings on. This is the first build i have done completely on my own, this is the result and i am well pleased

  15. Posted by Colin Bernard on 11/02/2014 21:56:53: Hi Rob, I have just used some for the first time this week and initially thought the same as yourself since there was no 'edge' like there is with Solarfilm. Eventually the tape trick showed there was a backing film with a very strong static attraction. Pulling it off merely made it stick to me instead! But now I have used it I am very impressed. Been a Solarfilm disciple since it first came out but at the price i think I am now a HK film convert. (GS appear to do the same film by the way.) Oh - and if you don't know the tape trick, you simply get two lengths of masking tape and stick them on either side of the film at a corner - then simply pull them apart. With Solarfilm the backing will come off immediately, but I found with the HK film it required several attempts to get the film to release. Quick sharp pulls also seemed more effective. just used HK covering for first time today, glad i read this about the masking tape, came off easy.....
