  1. Hi, I have just heard that the Traplet shop is closed as it is a bit of a scam, they have gone into liquidation and are starting up again under a new name, Sarick hobbys. How true this is I do not know but we will soon find out if the truth comes out. If this is true then I hope you can get what you want, also how long does it take to set up a new system, we will have to wait and see. good luck and if your Red Eagle flies as well as mine you have a great model to be pleased with. Mine flies in 0 to 15 mph winds with no problems.

  2. HI, I forgot to mention the plane in my photo is a full size, it was used in the war and still has a bullet hole in the bottom of the fuse, it is flying from our strip where it is kept. just great to watch when we are there.

    Mike.

  3. Hi, every one, thanks for all the info you have given me in the past,

    Piggy back system.

This is a new one, the release system that we have tried is operated with a servo in the plane, it is now no longer available, it just wont work any more, have any of you done this in the past or are doing it now? I have had a good look on you tube where there is some but can't see how it is operated except for some rubber bands over the glider wings, any info will be most well come. Also a plan if available.

    Thanks again.

  4. hi, went flying today took the Bi-plane and it flew well, only 1 thing wrong no camera, will make sure we have one next time, we have decided to up the size of the wheels to aid take off on our patch which is a full size landing strip and the grass is a bit long. all the best Mike.
  5. Thanks every one we will see what happens. if it goes in then that will be that, I have taken in all what has been posted & will explain to my test pilot & see what transpires. Thanks again & all the best for the week-end.
    Yours Mike Adams.
  6. I hope these are good enough, as we are going to maiden it on Saturday because I have made it electric powered, I think you are right as it has tail wheel steering, well modified before I had it. Thanks for all your interest.

  7. Hi Denis, thanks for the info as soon as I can fit the wings I will do as you suggest, I am still in the proses of rebuilding the front end around the motor, I am replacing an ENYA 15-IV. with an out runner GT2815--07, a 9X6 prop this is the one that was on the original engine, the plane was a gift and soaked in fuel so had to replace right back past the tank bay, still keep me busy for a while.

I hope this is not going to be too powerful.

Thanks again & will let you know how it goes.

    Mike.

  8. HI, can any one please help me to find the Cof G for an old biplane I am converting from diesel to electric, the top wing is 48" X 8" , the fuse length is 35". I have no drawing to help. plus no name for it to help.

Would it be 3. 3/4" from the leading edge. the electric motor will be lighter than the

engine, so I will have to add weight to balance it. Any info will be most appreciated

    Thanks in advance Mike.

  9. Hi Ken, thanks for info, I did have a look but no joy 9x6 was the closest to the originals, 9.75 x 7.5 I expect they would be ok but Gliders models have been able to source some for me so I will use those. I did have a look to see what the motor shaft size is but boy did I have a job to get the prop nut off, some one missed the flat and damaged the edge of the flat where the grub screw goes, still I did get it off and the shaft size is 4.03mm. Typical RTF I suppose. If all else fails then I will do away with this and use some thing off the shelf from a model shop. Thanks again and it is nice to know that there is some one out there who is willing to help others.

    Mike.

  10. Hi Denis, yes I am lucky to be able to fly from a full size landing strip, this plane is a full size it was taking off when I was there to have a fly, Ken is right as well, saying to change the lot so as being able to buy off the shelf, if I do brake another then that is probably what I will do.

Many thanks for your reply. Mike.

  11. Hi Ken, thank you for the info, I had thought of that, if I do break the ones I have found then I will sort some thing out like that, I suppose it just means sizing the motor shaft to get the right ones so long as the blades are the same size.

    Many thanks. Mike.
