Hi Andrew,Is your TV freeview? I did not inc that in my post. If so i have the answer,its the aerial. its not getting the correct reception.I connected mine to the sat dish and all was fine.In my case the channels were in the higher end.
I was told the original aerial i have is no good for digital and needs replacing,by a installer but i think it just might need tweaking.At the time i got the best "anlogue" aerial and i think they work fine with digital.
Its a little annoying but i will leave mine,its only in the "hobby" room to watch in the background.
Would be good to see how yours turns out,iwent through all the channels to find out what was working and can not remember them now,only jewelry channel 40 odd again,check yours.in my case it always took 5-10 secs before it turns off,proberly lost or searching for freq.
Its not an aerial problem
If your aerial goes down then the tv will just display no signal
On certain channels as you say in the high end 15 etc the tv powers off most commonly restarting after a few seconds its the software
