  1. Hi Everyone I am fully in love with sloping .I have never done it or seen it done but but I must.I live where it it flat from horizon to Horizon so now I shall have to steal? buy a car. Up to now I have been power mad , all my forty 's carried a ninety and my ninety,s a one twenty but now I don't care to see a motor for ages. Marvelous
  2. Hi Last I shall go on about this honest but I think folks should Know. The Gentleman called Jackomeister on this link has hit the nail on the head and has the reason flaperon cannot work .He says you cannot mix one channel into it's self which means if you have say aileron on one servo you cannot mix another function like flaps into the same servo. He took a bit of stick for this remark but he is right. **LINK**
  3. Hi Half of the Futaba range has a Flaperon function and the other half something called Camber Mix .Does any one know if this is the same thing? Thanks
  4. Hello All Flaperons only use one servo per wing and not a flap servo also and the Aurora cannot do this .It only gives flap use on separate servo channels when setting wing type channel 6 and 7.When you do this it gives flaps their own channel which is not flaperons..Gliders have a separate servo(s) for flaps which you can mix in conjunction with ailerons but this is not flaperons either .The only correct technical term is flaperon which the A9 cannot do and is poor for such a radio.
  5. I am sure I am not the first on this .Some thief stole my beloved FF9c and I got pulled into a new Aurora 9 as being all I would need by magazine hype.I like a servo in each wing and just use flaperon as a easy way to add in flap control with the ailerons when landing.Guess what the Aurora 9 cannot do it ,the lesser Eclispe 7 and Optic 6 can so why not this?.It is the main feature I use on all my models and I bet I am not the only one.I tried all day to come up with a mix but no joy.I feel robbed and want rid of it.
  6. I am going to put an ad in the local paper and a card in a few shop windows ,I would like to see any body give it a go by making it easier than when I started.
  7. Hi All I have found a smashing well mown field to start a club from in Saltfleet if any one in the area is interested seeing that we lost our site at Manby aerodrome.
  8. I am going to do the sensible thing and buy the Sport version instead with the ambition of moving onto a Vector 3 when I can aford it.I think travelling around is going to be a big part of my new venture.I have enjoyed climbing great hills in Scotland and places like the Lake District and seen paragliders taking of on the summit and it never accurd to me I could have been doing my favourite hobby at the same time. Thanks
  9. You go putting on links like this and poor saps like me start foaming at the mouth!
  10. Sorry about this late reply Graham.I have no info on Total Cad for Linux but Qcad or Libre Cad are pretty good for free and can produce anything that a pro outfit can it just takes a bit more thought. What I like about the more basic software is that runs nicely without bugs and crashes that does at some time plague Pro setups.I have tried all the ones you mention (some are lousy) and have only liked the ones that come with the distro.Any one can use CAD but the help is very poor and complicated. The tutorials on Total Cad 1 are loaded from file and are very easy and will get you started .Go through the tutorials carefully and all the instructions are there.I have seen people Knock this program on the web so obviously if they cannot be bothered to read a few lines of instruction they are not going to be able to use it.A subject that can take years of college study and they say it is no good because they loaded it once and gave it a quick prodding.
  11. Hi All Before I buy my first soarer a CF Phase 6 Pro I would like to Know If I can buy and fit the wing from a 'Sport' also . Has any one any experience of fitting a electric motor or power pod to one of these as it is a bit flat where I live .There is a rise of sand dunes near me at about 15 feet high and 100 yards across and the wind is pretty strong across them.Would I get any lift from this? After twenty years of glow power I,ve finaly got hooked.Cheers
  12. I use version 1 and don't Know two so I am not certain of it ,why it should be different I have no idea any how version one Product Code: ESS220 is here **LINK**
  13. Instead Windows 7-8 have you tried Linux? For the past ten years I've used Ubuntu because it just works all the time and every things free. The only use I have for Windows is Compufoil and CAD software other wise Microsoft know where they can stick it.
  14. Monz Yes it is. I am sure DraftSight is excellent but it has a steep learning curve for a begginer and once you are used to it you are kind of stuck with it because it is different to Autocad and it,s clones. There are free ones out there but they are a mixed bag when it comes to learning support and file types. I think most modellers only want to make a descent job of producing plans for their hobby and not have to make a career of it and that is what a full blown cad program takes.
  15. I have used a few Autocad clones for a number of years (TurboCad,DoubleCad etc) and apart from being expensive are quite complex for newbees. My favourite one to use for basic use is one I have had the longest and is only around a tenner.Totalcad is a baseline program of the others I have mentioned yet runs much nicer than any of them.It comes with a excellent set of tutorials that you learn by filling in the missing parts and move to the next. It really is easy just take your time. Total Cad Part no ESS220.
