Hello John As far as I am aware Le Ferte Alais is not being held this year. An alternative is the "6th European Flugtag" which I am helping to organize. There are many large models booked in from a variety of countries. A sizeable number of high profile pilots from the LMA are making the trip, including John Greenfield, Richard Rawle, Ian Turney-White, Ivan Goodchild and Glenn Masters. Distance from Calais to the show site is 268 miles. Aero Club Rheidt is holding its 6th European Flugtag on the 3rd - 5th August 2007. http://aero-club-rheidt.de The show, held in the village of Rheidt, which is between Cologne (Köln) and Bonn in the west of Germany and only 20 minutes drive from Köln/Bonn International Airport. the show attracts modellers from all over europe, this year for the first time we have over 20 models coming from members of the Large Model Association in the UK. The Mikado Heli Team are also making their first appearance at Rheidt this year along with many other top show pilots including Sebastiano Silvestri, Marc Fröhn and Wolfgang Klühr. Models already booked in range from small electric weighing just a few grams through to multi-engined turbine models up to a maximum of 150kg
