I recently read with some dismay of the FAA considering new rules regards quadcopters being flown in risky situations and so many near miss reports. My first introduction to flying was learning to fly full sized Cessna's at a local aeroclub,so i'm well up on Uk air law and because of cost eventually turned to RC modelling which is more affordable but are we going to have more restrictions because of people being sold aircraft by shops that have put sales before safety!-not enough info regards safe use etc? Does it really take much effort(common sense) to realise the dangers of flying near airports/crowded town centres or passing helis/ light aircraft? I'm not saying people should'nt be able to buy such things but folks need to made aware of the risks even with models,i turned to RC Flying to fill a hole left by being no longer able to afford to fly bigger things which it does very well and in some ways its harder than fullsize cos there's no feedback via yer bum!! We're constantly told its noisey/dangerous etc but thats only true if the risks etc are not managed or ignored!
