  1. Wouldn't you say that the Phantom has more safety features built in than most other RC craft? Find me a fixed wing the returns to base and lands when it loses signal.... It's one of those "new" things that people just need to get used to. Has anyone actually seen an official document from the CAA that confirms this ban on licenses? It doesn't apply to me but it would make for an interesting read.
  2. Yeah 5.8GHz for control. Range Extender is 2.4GHz and the FPV back to your iPhone as you fly is through WiFi.   Edited By Matt Bibbey on 06/08/2014 20:57:39 Edited By Matt Bibbey on 06/08/2014 21:00:03
  3. So just a brief update.   Sent my Phantom back to DJI Europe HQ at a cost of £50! They received it on the 17th of last month and I haven't heard a word since. So they've had it for 15 working days now and still no word. I tried phoning them but no answer. I paid for it on the 27th of June and still haven't even been able to fly the damn thing!   I still can't really believe I've had to pay to send it back to them, considering it was broken right out of the box.   So far, not impressed, especially as I just keep seeing all these awesome videos people keep posting up! lol   IN SHORT: GO TO A UK DEALER AND JUST TAKE THE EXTRA  FEW QUID ON THE CHIN. I wish I had. Edited By Matt Bibbey on 06/08/2014 18:56:33
  4. I thought to myself "what could be safer than buying directly from the manufacturer"! Surely I should have some come back seeing how I paid for something that would work and it doesn't and I haven't even used it. Shouldn't I be able to just return it and get my money back if the worst came to the worst?
  5. Well I hope you're right mate. lol. I know that people are more likely to post online about a negative experience than a positive one but there really are a huge number of complaints about how they treat customers with problems. I've also just found out that wherever it goes back to, I'll have to pay for the postage! It's not a small box either! I'm just annoyed that I'm going to be without something that I paid a lot of money for and it's going to cost me money on top. Has anyone here had a good or bad experience dealing with DJI?
  6. I did all the reading on their website and basically I just didn't really think it through. I'm now regretting not going through Quadcopters or whoever. Oh well, it's done now. Although, I didn't know it was coming from China as you pay in Euro's. I assumed it would be coming from DJI Europe, which is in Germany.   Edited By Matt Bibbey on 06/07/2014 16:52:33
  7. Sirs et all, I recently went with the DJI Phantom 2 Vision + (which I bought direct from DJI). One of the motors doesn't work straight out of the box. You power it up and then the front left LED just flashes red and beeps..... constantly. There is nothing in the literature that explains this error so I just fired up the motors and low and behold, the front left motor doesn't turn at all! It seems most likely that there is no connection to that motor but it's brand new and I paid £1000 for it, near enough so I don't want to start taking it apart whilst it has warranty. My main concern now is that I've been doing some reading about DJI and their customer service/care. I HAVE NOT READ ONE GOOD THING ABOUT IT!!!! Any ideas? If avoidable, I don't want it going all the back to China because I'll be without it for weeks and even months, from what I've read. Will they allow it to be returned to a UK Authorised Dealer for inspection and repair or am I just stuffed? Any and all opinions and questions welcome. Thanks in advance Matt
  8. Hello chaps, Just joined the forum! I'm based in Kent. Been flying things that you sit in as well as things that you can't for some time now so thought I should probably join a forum so here I am. Regards Matt
