  1. thought the xg8 was supplied with LiFe battery. this was part of the initial interest for me All adverts ive seen for this combi includes the battery so i am surprised it was nit supplied. how much did you pay for it and who was the supplier if you dont mind me asking?
  2. Thanks Owen, I had a doh moment. Just re-checked as suggested and found I had the wrong swash plate setting. It now seems to operate in the correct sense all servos appear to work together correctly. Blimey what chance ave I got to fly this thing if I cant even get this right. Thanks again Barry
  3. Hi Guys Not sure if this is the right location for this but I've just built a TT Mini Titan Heli. Installed HS65MG servos along with a GY401 Gyro. Radio used is a FF7CAP system. The Mini Titan uses e-ccpm and consequently I selected the relevant swash plate setting on my TX (120degree). Everything fine so far, had to change the direction of one of the servos and reverse one of the swash plate settings to get the correct  direction (pitch). Now here's the question; The manual states that the elevator function uses 3 servos to move the swash plate. The elevator servo determines the direction, IE up elevator swash plate back, down elevator swashplate forward. The two "aileron" servos, according to the Titan manual, should move in the opposite direction. On my set-up these servos do not appear to move. NOt ever having used ccpm on the FF7 before I'm not sure if this is correct or not. Is there anybody out there that can offer any advice on this set-up before I attempt to fly this machine and end up trashing it. Many Thanks
  4. Well its my birthday on Monday and this would make me very happy.
  5. Hi Guys Trying to get hold of a plan for the Mini-Tyro 32" trainer that was given away in one of the RCM&E magazinezs in 1970 (not sure of the month). Checked the RCM&E plans but it doesnt appear to be there (Tyro major is available). Any body out there got a copy I could have (buy or borrow) Thx\ Barry
  6. Sorry about the late response guys, been very busy!!! Sounds like good advice to me and I will give it a go. On a seperate issue have any of you had any expereinces with the GY400, i believe that this is a GY401 clone:- Is it any good? Thanks for your help Barry
  7. I think Ill join in you never know your luck and i also need a new model
  8. Hi Guys Just thought I would get in on the act and ask the experts in this forum what they think about headloaders for setting up your heli motors. I tried to use one on my Raptor recently but just as the revs were peaking out the balls on the end imploded and ripped themselves off of the rods. Fortunately I was running it up in the garden and nobody was hurt but I now have 2 holes in my fence panels where the remains of the balls tried to embed themselves. Are these really a safe option. This may be a stupid question but could I set the collective on the heli to zero degrees at all throttle settings and then attach the actual blades then use this configuation to setup the engine. You may have gathered I am a newbee to the heli thing so any advice given will be gratefully accepted.
  9. Thanks Guys, thats something I didn't really think about but now you mention it it could be a double edged sword! Either way it could end up with a heli doing something dangerous if it had a glitch! I guess thats what flying site safety precautions are for. Should I consider replacing the RD6000 with 2.4 Ghz system? What are the chances of getting glitches on the modern equipment?
  10. Thanks Alan a lot of useful info there. I've been told that the jr649s PCM rx will work with PCM2 but I think you are right, I might aswell invest my money in an RX that I know will work and give me the added security of a PCM failsafe in case I get any glitches.
  11. Hi Guys I'm a newbee to RC Helis and I've got an RD6000 Super RC kit along with a Raptor V2 and Futaba gy 401 gyro. The RD6000 came with a PPM RX but is capable of using PCM (PCM1 & PCM2). I was thinking of getting a PCM RX for my Heli due to its reliability but I am not sure what RXs would be compatable. Do I have to use a Sanwa PCM RX or could I use a Futaba 1024 RX. What does PCM1 & PCM2 mean? Any help or advice on this would be much appreciated. I've done the usual searches on the web and that has confused me even more. Many Thanks
