  1. Hello all, After many years of trying to find the time I have eventually started building my first balsa model, I opted for a Ben Buckle Novice and so far have completed the wings except for the wingtip blocks. The plan view of the wing shows a curved wingtip and what is supplied is a piece of 45 degree angled block which glues to the wing tip rib and is sanded to shape. The plans show a section through the block as follows: The block is shown to match the height of the wing section but it doesn't, when placed level with the bottom of the wing as per the plan the top of the wing sits proud by about an 8th of an inch: If I move it up level with the wing top then a gap is left between the bottom edge of the block and the trailing edge. I assume that the wingtip block should sit level with the top and bottom surfaces of the wing so do I build up it up, perhaps with some 16th strip, and sand it to shape or is there a better way? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I've spent a couple of weeks on this wing and it doesn't look too bad for a first attempt so I don't want to cock it up now. Thanks in advance. Bill.
