Sorted it. I was taking some details from the ebay add
When I actually googled the psu
7001452 j000 Z750p
Plenty came up
Got it powered up, fan speed lower and soldered some terminals to the 2 outputs.
Thanks all

Tried Google for this psu (link to ebay above) but cannot seem to find my particular psu for details of the pins to get it to switch on
I'm guessing not all Dell Server psu's are the same. So could be dangerous to just try randomly?
-
Thanks
Well just bought this one on eBay
Just got to work out what pins I need etc.
-
Thank you. That seems a good idea
Just looked on eBay and those proliant psu's are only from £10 upwards with anything from 400w upwards on 12v
Are there some simple 'hot too for coverting them then to give me 12v for use at home
Thanks

Hi
Thinking of getting a bench power supply and wondered if any of you have any experience with them.
Thought it would be useful for various things
Like when setting up a model instead of having to use a Lipo / NiMh pack
For powering some Lipo chargers (some can take more than 12v input (which I normally use from a leisure battery) )
Noticed quite a few of Amazon.
Just thought I'd ask on here for views
Thanks

Hi. Doing a Gee Bee
Need some pointers of best way to approach the white covering on the vertical stab i think its called?
Anyhow. The tall bit before the actual rudder. A few curves in it. Not sure if a heat gun and covering iron will sort it or how to actually do it neatly
Hoping for some super advice from some of you great covering wizards.

can anyone give some advice on this model.
Was trying to get one sorted today for a fellow modeller.
We managed to hook the white single signal wires from the included stabilisation unit to the receiver for throttle, ailerons and elevator that worked.
Rudder wire has three wires. Could not get it to work at all. Although the rudder would move a little during self test. Connections seemed OK and the flight mode wire - Could not seem to get that sorted.
So model has elevator, ailerons and throttle working okay.
It does it self test but no idea how to set rudder or flight mode up. This is on a spektrum dx8 G1.
Any advice would be great.

Any more information in this motor please. As just come across one that is now in my possession.
prop. Lipo etc etc thanks
-
Yes. Seen all the basic details Bob. Just wondered if anyone had any real life information like what Lipo works with what prop etc and esc.
-
Bob. ( or anyone ) that can help.
Your motor you used. The e-flite BL50i have one available that I may use on a Gee Bee that I am using.
but like you found. Details of the spec of the motor are none existent.
I want to use it on 5s lipo’s preferably with a 15x7 prop.
but need to Know some specs. ESC. Watts etc.
can anyone help perhaps with some details?
thank you

hi just a heads up. Popped into our local Aldi. Selling scroll saw from £60 reduced to £40 this was in Clay Cross Chesterfield Derbyshire but I’m sure the prices will be the same across all Aldis just for somebody may be interested in it

Many thanks Adrian. Much appreciated

Hi Guys, in the process of sorting my old chilli breeze out, but i do not have the plans and I need to know the C of G please if someone would be kind enough to post the figures for me that would be great.
Mine has a Mega Motor 22/30/2 fitted and yet to fly it ( did try it with that motor and a 4s 3200 lipo and 80amp esc) but didnt check amp draw etc before flight and killed the esc. Think it was turning a 14x4 apc so I think that perhaps is what killed the esc.
I am thinking of a smaller 9 / 10" prop next time and I will check with a watt meter this time too!
Thank you

No it was part of the prop and spinner. I just said that above. The only reason I know it was the bolt, spinner and prop was that Robbie Skipton the pilot and owner of Skip model designs said so.
-
Unfortunately that biplane that went in was due to a bolt breaking on the spinner. Which in turn led to the spinner coming of. Hitting the prop and breaking that which in turn led to the model crashing. As I believe it wasn’t that high up at the time.
It’s a real shame as I only just saw that model at Cosford. Robbie and the guys at skip model design are building a new one I think. Lovely model.
I read this on the Bmfa Facebook page. Which by the way, is a great group to follow even if your not that ‘into’ Facebook.

Unfortunately I have recently read on another RC post, that the Two gorgeous Red Arrows flown by Father & Son team, Steven and Mathew Bishop. Have a had a mid-air with each other, whilst in Palma del rio, Spain with one another. Whilst I believe representing the UK.
I have read that both models are no more.
Terrible loss & gutted for them.
Really enjoyed watching them fly at shows.

Hi, after seeing the father & son team fly at Cosford with there pair of Red Arrows. I have the urge for a build during winter time of a Red Arrows Model.
Can someone recommend a Hawk kit that is possibly out there to build. Not too big though.
Thanks.

Hi. Im on the scrounge if you have anything suitable. I have just got from a swop meet for a £10 a multiplex Twinstar. Gave it a coat of paint and. Now after some stickers to liven it up a bit.
Just wondered if any of you had any stickers rounders etc knocking around for it please if possible
-
Hi, managed to get a Multiplex Twinstar at a Swop meet the other day. Pretty tatty in places.
2 things.
1) I wish to paint it, what are the best paint types etc to use on this model.
2) There is a bit of foam missing around edge of a aileron. What would be best to fill this missing foam with. I don't seem to have any suitable foam in my misc box?
Thanks

Just picked up one of the original brushed ones of these at a swop meet for £10
Included a RX which is no use for my equipment. But has got a Jeti JES 350 ESC, google tells me that esc should be okay with lipo's. The model is a bit dirty so thinking of a paint job on it.
-
I will when I get the chance this week, try a new ESC first. as I have a suitable one, be it 60amp although that will at least show if it is the esc or motor and update this thread.
thank you for your replies though

Not yet, tried it on the work bench WITHOUT prop on
with a 3s 2200 mAh lipo and it spools up fine.
Fitted prop back on, now has stuttering / jittering,
99% sure it is not the soldering or connectors as it spools up fine without a prop

Richard.
Daft question, but thought I'd ask.
If one was wanting to build both versions (together) do we need double of everything in the above mentioned materials list?
Just curious if there is lots left over before ordering Balsa.
Many thanks
