  1. I have finished covering my wing and have glued it into place. The horizontal tail has also been glued on.
  2. I t looks like adding the 2 small ribs between the spar and the front made for much easier covering.
  3. Yes, just 2 small ribs, and a wedge shaped piece at the trailing edge. I'm going to try again, but with another small rib near the front. You can see the ribs in the picture of my Sept 13 post.
  4. Posted by Glyn44 on 28/08/2016 18:00:22: PS Steve, The hardest bit is fitting/cutting the windscreen, oh and covering the wing tips to a decent standard!!! I'm finding that out Glyn - I'm not happy with how my wingtips are turning out and I think that I will carve a balsa block for the leading edge, back to the spar. 5. I think I've made all the parts now, just the windshield and the two F13's left. I also have the cowl to make, but I like to do that after I've pretty much assembled the finished model and adjusted the motor to it's final location for the best C of G.
  6. I haven't made to many planes yet, but on the three I have made I waited until the last to make my cowl. I position the motor to the optimum C of G first and then make the cowl to fit.
  7. I may be wrong, but It looks like you make the long cowl, then saw it in two just behind the exhaust [with the motor mounted forward] and fasten the short piece permanently to the fuselage.
  8. Thanks - I was hoping that I wouldn't have to try to replace the tubes.
  9. I've finished the wing and dry fitted it to the fuselage. I can see that my paper tubes are too short, but don't know if I will be able to extend or replace them now.
  10. I'm having the same trouble as Gordon - just a black screen, and yet I can see all the other months normally.
  11. Thanks for the heads up on attaching the wing. I will follow your advice. Yes the article is in the July 2016 issue of RC Modelworld. These are the basic materials needed Here they are glued up, washer soldered on, and spring installed And now glued to hatch I still need to carve a knob [gunsight style] and glue it on
