  1. Hi guys, still have not made a purchase of a Tx yet, but was looking to possibly purchase the Boxer set. I’m waiting on local clubs to reply to mails I’ve sent out really to see what is used on the field, but unfortunately have not had any reply’s as yet 🤔. Will be chasing up later. Now I have seen advertised locally an used/ 2nd hand spectrum Dx6i Tx, are these still very current ? £80 I believe it’s advertised at.
  2. exactly what I’ve been reading across the web and why I thought the jumper 16 might be a very good strong choice at the price point and versus the Boxer 😉 thanks again.
  3. had seen from reviews the size of the Boxer is smaller and moulded well for comfort and grip, although there is a smaller screen. I am swaying in the direction of the Boxer but still can’t rule out the jumperT16 at present.
  4. @Andy Gates exactly sort of information I was looking for 😉 @GrumpyGnome yes have been reading and watching lots of reviews. I have been reading and watching many reviews and discussions on Txs and open source etc, and like mentioned previously the information can become overwhelming. Anyhow a little researching and guidance from this post using the recommendations given and found in other posts. So I think I have narrowed down to either Radiomaster or Jumper, and with my price point (although I was starting of at a much lower budget) I have come to either, Radiomaster Boxer 4 in 1 Jumper T16 Pro These are both available around £140 i have also looked at Radiomaster TX16 Jumper T18 but these are nearer £200 so price wise go firther over budget. i iniatially set myself £100 radio budget before even looking at Tx’s. If anyone has any better recommendations to my choice and also any views/ reviews on the two would be most welcomed before my purchase. @Andy Gatesvery helpful, have you used or come across the Boxer in comparison?
  5. Can I get thoughts or review/ opinions on this Tx please. Sorry for text it’s a copy paste…… Jumper T16 2.4GHz 16CH OpenTx Multi-Protocol Radio Transmitter
  6. Cheers Guys, read a fair few posts concerning many people here using these sites for all sorts, had seen you’ve used them too. The posts ended up being excellent reading, all sorts of topics of which opened my mind to all sorts of avenues “information overload lol💥” but all good reading. 👍
  7. Sorry my bad just searched the site and found many topics on banggood, should have searched before posting 😒
  8. Can I ask if anyone has any experience with Banggood or such like. I am not asking necessarily for radio equipment as I would be looking at more reputable UK suppliers, but more so that I have seen a fair few pp Foam models they advertise. I know these are going to be probably from timbucktwo and probably need more hands on. wondered if you actually get what your purchasing and if it actually turns up. This will be for a new thread at the right time in the right place but, My level of modelling experience is use of CAD for design (also used in my daily job of Design & Development of products for the Yacht industry), I own design and print models and functional parts on two capable personally owned FDM a Resin printer and a laser cutting machine for metals, wood etc. I am a Kit modeller, and an Historical Wargamer/ modeller from Ancients through to WW2. So this may help with eventually making my own kits/ models in the future or even replacement parts etc.
  9. Yes definitely can be, but to have some good knowledgeable fellows like yourself’s to help out is priceless 🍻
  10. This has certainly given me plenty to think about a look at when purchasing a Tx, exactly why I posted before purchasing anything. thank you all
  11. yeah sorry typed this in a rush but meant that I have an understanding due to' in the past and most likely the same now that I will have multiple models that may have different types/ makes of receivers depending on my type of model also. Looking further into this light weight type/build I am seeing the soldered type of receivers to keep weight low so i do agree the right Tx is a must. Hence I thought I'd post as well as researching myself as not flown for about 6 years now and I'm sure technology has advanced a lot, as with anything and there's a lot of new gear/ company's I'm seeing also as well as some sources I used to use for Gear are non existent (I guess due to our previous trying times). But thanks for all Help 😉
  12. yes researching this whilst looking at Tx's currently, making sure of compatibility 😉
  13. @Paul De Tourtoulon Yes very aware of the needs specific to the models you want to use the transmitter. For this instance micro/ mini Aircraft (up to 500-600mm wingspan) for some EPP, Depron, foamy 3D aerobatic flying fun and I am also a modeller so may try some homemade Kits or shop bought. When first searching I came across the Kyosho Minium AD Profile Extra 330SC pictured, you could buy in a complete kit withTx for around £70 but unfortunately looks like its discontinued.
  14. Guys thanks very much for the suggestions. I will look at all. @Andy Gates yes understand with multi protocol as would maybe like a few models, so would mean more receivers to bind etc. and yes a member of BMFA and found a fair few clubs to look at, did the club happen to be Wimborne or Christchurch way or here in Poole 🤔 @GrumpyGnome I did look at the Tx16 but this will definitely be something when I get back into full flight and larger scales again, didn’t look at the Boxer though and is now on my radar 😉 @Don Fry yes same have previous long history with Futaba for cars and then for the Planes, always heard and see good things on spectrum on net and with previous club, but again I would look at spectrum when going back to larger scale and Club flying. @Phil Green Now this sounds interesting, presently just looking for a budget setup to fly models in my garden for some fun low speed aerobatics when not being able to get to a field. My first priority before Club flying needs to be a Hanger/ hobby space, as not enough room for the storage inside. So some sort of shed/ summer house I’m calling it if the missus asks 😉
  15. Afternoon all, I am looking for a decent budget 2.4ghz radio, currently looking at, Turnigy 9X 9Ch Mode 2 Transmitter w/ Module & iA8 Receiver (AFHDS 2A system), from HK and Goolsky FS-i6X RC Transmitter 2.4GHz 10CH AFHDS 2A with FS-iA10B Receiver, from AMZN Both same sort of price, Anyone had an experiences with either, or can recommend anything better for same sort of price. I moved location to Poole Dorset 5 years ago and upon moving I sold all my Aircraft as more worried stuff may get broken as moved down from the midlands but thought I had kept my radio gear and some odds (Futaba T6EX) but think I may have sold it, forgotten it, lost it ... I am looking to purchase or build a Shocky, Epp 3D aerobatic foamy mini/micro indoor flyer or similar to fly in the back garden possibly Park etc as getting the itch to start flying again. Next is also to see if there's any clubs close. I came across this Kyosho Minium AD Profile Extra 330SC 2.4GHz Combo Set But unfortunately cant find any stock and probably discontinued. Anyway any help or recommends will be very appreciated.
