  1. Hi there Thanks for the info and sorry i have not replied sooner, have found out yesterday it is a futaba that is up for sale,do they accept any servos most of my servos already in use are hi-tec standard servos. thank you Keith
  2. Hi There Could i ask for some advice as i see you are or were discussing 2.4ghz, never even thought about it till the other day when we were offered one second hand by someone who is giving up . The question is,obviously we need to replace the receivers in the 4 models it will be used with but do i have to replace the servos aswell or can i use the existing servos,i apologise if this is a dumb question i cant see why they need to be changed but you never know. thankyou for your time. Keith
  3. Hi Tony Thank you for the reply ,yes this is correct ,sorry about my terminology,i did wonder as to whether or not that would be the answer but did not want to remove it in case i messed up what ever may have been lurking inside once removed, things do have a habit of flying out when you delve into the unknown. cheers keith
  4. Hi Tony Sorry but i have come straight to the oracle with this one. I am in the process of constructing the cowl and engine bay and cannot get the ASP 61 to fit in everything was fine whilst mounting the engine mount and the nose ring then i removed the engine to finish the construction and now it will not go back in, the problem is being caused by a knerled ratchet type bolt on the side of the carbueretter directly opposite the throttle linkage measuring 28mm from engine housing to end making the whole thing to wide for the engine bay, have i dropped an almighty clanger or should i have specified when ordering the engine,a shorter bolt length. The construction is as per the measurements on the drawing i have double checked i just do not know what has gone wrong. Your comments or suggestions would be appreciated, and by the way please dont hang up your design equipment what would us balsa bashers do in the winter and spring and summer in my case. cheers Keith
  5. Hi, just for info and those considering it ,just engines have said tha an11x7 three bladed prop should be the size for there .61 4stroke engine. thanks to everyone for your help.
  6. Hi Guys Thanks for the info,my grandson certainly gives me some problems i wouldn't mind but i don't even fly the planes just build  them (ah well grandads for you),anyway having had a lay  off due to work commitments i am back in full swing for now, the wing is finished and i have started on the fuselage and i have another dumb question?how do i secure the fuel tank , is this another one of those hidden secrets i should know. I am sure i will have a few more questions before i have finished but if someone could dish the dirt on this question i would eternally grateful. thanks keith
  7. Hi Guys Just thought i would start this thread off again,i was wandering if anyone a had fitted a 3 bladed prop to this particular aircraft or if not would it be possible and what would be the size and obviously the set up problems. I am intending to use an ASP.61 4 stroke with a 13x6 blade but thought a tripple blade would look better.
  8. Thankyou Bob i will try once more with our German friends
  9. HI there  I sent the above mentioned shop an e-mail the same day and as yet have not had a reply,i have also tried again to contact multiplex direct but to no avail,(nine sprecht englander).  But I have today managed to get a hold of an instruction manual which gives several accessories and numbers  some of which do not appear on multiplex product list. I am now totally confused,do we require a slider switch ,2 position switch or a 3 position switch. Can anyone out there offer any help or suggestions all of which will be greatly appreciated . many thanks Keith
  10. thankyou for the info i will give them a ring
  11. hi there my grandson uses  a mutiplex pico which at present is only a  4 channel transmitter but now he wants to incorporate landing gear on his next plane,i know it can be amplified to a 5 channel. Question, does anyone know of a supplier where we can obtain the required module ? i have tried multiplex but have not had a reply. i know the transmitter is old but he is used to it and finds it easy to handle. many thanks keith
  12. Hi Graham and Martin, the 24mm measurement was the distance remaining for a wheel taking into account the sport oleo legs and leaving rib 4 intact, this is going by my plan,by removing the support section of rib 4 as you suggest then i have 39mm for both leg and wheel to fall into. Question? is this suggested on the plan somewhere and i have overlooked this critical point or is this the only way you got  your wheel arrangements to fit, noting that you both have different configurations, you both also use Robart wheels which are 25mm i have Du-Bro which are 31mm which is where the problem  first started. thanks for the info i will plod on.
