  1. Hi Martin, regarding your tail par pictures, what sort of hinges are you using, or is the structure just taped for the photo - difficult to see. Thanks Richard
  2. Regarding strengthening the main wing trailing edge - how about applying some some 25 gsm glass cloth?
  3. In response to Andy's post on using spruce rather than hard balsa for the spars. What thoughts on maybe applying webbing to the upper and lower hard balsa spars? Richard
  4. Andy, not pedantic at all - many thanks for the tip. It had me running for the sheets I bought from Sarik that I plan to use for the spars and they look OK, but will be vigilant when cutting.
  5. Andy, Ernie, many thanks for input. I'll build with hard balsa and functional rigging,
  6. Hi everyone, moving a bit forward, has anyone given any thought to the main wing spars. To my inexperienced eye, I would question their strength. Should consideration be given to augmenting with carbon?
  7. Ernie, I'm uber impressed with the brass bits. Very many thanks, Richard
  8. Hi Stuart, Also from me, many thanks for your offer, having never tried litho before, it would be good to try. Can you PM me with costs for 3 sheets. Thanks, Richard
  9. Hi Ernie, Payment via Pay Pal on its way to you and I have mailed you my postal address. Regards, Richard
  10. Hi Danny / Ernie, I'd be interested in all metal and fibreglass bits as well. Cheers, Richard
  11. Danny / Chris, Many thanks for info re aluminium foil / plotters etc. Richard
  12. Thanks Danny. Do you have a preference for a foil manufacturer - like for instance Flite Metal or something more basic from Hobby King?
  13. Hi Danny, Compared to most in this thread, I have a lot to learn......! So I am keen to understand what sort of plotter you use (re your last post) and how you manage to get the 'panel' effect. Could you summarise? Thanks, Richard
  14. Hi Richard, Your Fury looks great. Can I ask how you managed to get such a good finish. What materials did you use to cover in advance of using metal tape? Regards, Richard
  15. Thanks Danny. Am still not sure at the moment which way i'll go in terms of motor. If I go electric, I'll stick with the current laminated formers, but will use the thicker ply if I decide on IC. My current preference is the latter - just like the noise! Richard
  16. Thanks Danny. Some pictures below. Am not sure that a 4mm former will be man enough? Richard
  17. 'Morning all. Notwithstanding all of the above comprehensive discussion about ply, I would be interested to hear views on the ply (to be laminated) former (F1) firewall on the Fury as indicated on the plan and supplied in the woodpack from Sarik. For those who received their woodpacks from Sarik, will you be using this - or would standard (from Orbit) 6 mm light ply be preferable? The ply in the pack is 2mm, laminated to make 4mm, whereas the plan itself suggests 6mm.... Richard
  18. OK Danny - am sure that you are right. Does this have any implications for the build? Richard
