  3. Hi All

Asking questions to gain a bit of knowledge!! Bought a secondhand wot trainer, it has a TT.42 GP engine, it came with half a bottle of ''Model Technics Quickfire 16'' is that a good or bad fuel? or if not could anyone recommend a ''better'' fuel. Many thanks, appreciate your time/advice.

  4. Hi All

Just bought a secondhand Wot Trainer!. Just giving it a once over, it takes a thunder tiger R2 glow plug, a bit pricey, £9.99 per plug!! Are they worth the nearly double money than say an OS plug which are half the cost, I know you get what you pay for, but I am new!! Also there was no nitro with the plane, any recommendations on % nitro I should use. As always thanks for your time and advice.

  5. Hi All. Returning to the fold after a few years away. Anyone know what has happened to Phoenix RC Flight Sim?? Just thought I would start having a practice but no one seems to have a copy of 5.5 version! Someone said there is a version 6 on its way?? Tks for your time/help. Tel

  6. Same old story, learned to fly at elstree, herts. Went solo doing x country, along came the mortgage and kids. Friend at Elstree went over to the states and got his commercial, then he found love!! We used to go over to Florida and do our flying over there. I used to work for BA, used to do their flight plans so got over there for nothing, jump seat all the way, the arrival route into orlando international was brilliant. Microlight course, gliding course at Dunstable, just dream about it all now!!!

  7. Hi Chris

    Thanks for info.

I'm a member of a club already. Got all the gear, no what i am interested in now is learning the building side of the sport. I would love to be able to build something like a 'taylorcraft' or a 'piper', you know the good old ones.

  9. Hi Dave

Flown (thats a laugh!!) the old 'Ready 2'. Got a TT trainer at the moment. The Chris Foss is a good idea, will look into that, just want to get into the 'building' of an aircraft. Got a good friend who builds mainly 'warbirds' but he lives 2 hours away, he said he would help but lives too far away.

    Tks for help/advice

  10. Hi Martin

Would have been in the middle 80's. Loved it. Used to go up on the downs and pass a Sat/Sun afternoon watching the flying Did the 5 day course. Great time, then I got a motgage!! Learned to fly microlights, then the kids arrived!! Learned how to fly 'power' got as far as solo/crosscountry then the kids wanted to uni and that was it!!! Something always got in the way!! Loved gliding though, the others were too loud!!

    What about you, still flying??

  13. Hi all.

As in the title, newbie alert. I need all the info from you knowledgable people.

magazines, good reading books, what coverings what glues what tools where to buy (live in north London)...........I need the lot. Always had a 'thing' about building a Ka6e glider. I know that will NOT be the one to start out, but what would be a good starting model. Got a nice little shed with electrics not doing much at the top of the garden. God forbid, are there any good forums, apart from this one!!!

Think a couple of good books/magazines would be the way to start???

    Appreciate your time and advice

  16. Hi All
Keen to get started on my new Hobby but am having trouble getting in touch with a couple of clubs in my area (No Names). I assume that the clubs are run voluntarily by its members and I am in no way getting fed up, I have emailed them 3 times each over the last fortnight without any luck, just wondering if this is the norm?

Also help me out...I sent this msg yesterday and I must have done something wrong because it got lost??....because I have NOT joined a club yet I wanted to get into the 'Newbies' section. You will have to forgive me while I get used to the website (not too good with technology).
Appreciate your time in helping me out.
