  1. Hi Rob, Its good to hear someone being enthusiastic about building, so far I have the wood, canopy and SF fan unit and motor. At the moment I am bogged down doing the bathroom ( I hate tiling!!) so will be a couple of weeks behind you but once the punishment is out of the way I will be setting to in earnest. To save cluttering up this forum with chit chat why dont you email me direct, I am at /forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif[/img][email protected]][email protected]. Best of luck and we will see how we get on.
  2. Adam, You are by no means alone. I had a kit of the Mini Super which would not go together untill I twigged onto the fact that the CNC cut parts were to a different scale than the plan. Contacted B. B. who suggested that I would have a lot of sanding to do!! Gave up but didnt give in and enlarged the plan on a copier where upon the parts then fitted. The wood quality was at the bottom of the cut so wont be buying another, which is a pity as there are some good old designs, its just the kitting which lets them down.
  3. Rob, I am about to start on the same build but will be a bit behind you- be interesting to hear how you are doing. Been building small electrics for some time now and I use both CA and PVA (B & Q do a good cheap brand) My usual rule is if you are sure of your location and it cannot move CA it, but if a bit of jiggling and cross checking is needed use PVA. Happy building
  4. There is a simpler way.BEFORE you start building take a pin and prick through at regular intervals the outline of the ribs, spars, and L/T.E. Flip over the plan, take a 3ft rule and join up the dots! Even sexy wing tips can be done this way if you have French curves or a Flexicurve. If you get the pin located in the centre of the line it is surprising how accurate this method is.
  5. Keith, i've had the same problem as you with a new ff7 and both GWS and Futaba Rx all with Futaba Xtals.Done some experimenting and found that the glitching is a funtion of arial orientation. There is a "dead" lobe that does not necessary align with the arial mechanical axis. I have spoken at length to Futaba support who are of the opinion that there is nothing wrong with the Tx and I am doing something wrong (but no idea what).I have now got to the stage where I can induce glitching at will and predict exactly when its going to happen-so watch where you are pointing the arial!
  6. Hi Les, I live the other side of the Clee to you in Cleobury Mortimer and I fly with the Wyre Forest club (electric & gliders). I know Martins Models in Leominster run a club or if you are still struggling go to www.bmfa.org.uk and click on clubs
