  2. Ugh! Really don't like the lines f those Qx7's flight1! Hi john, I only fly gliders/slope nothing fancy so 6 channels is fine for me. Hi Percy, the flash 7 does look very well priced, but like the Qx7 I don't like the lines Thanks for the replies chaps appreciate it So nobody here have a Graupner then?
  3. My wife has told me I can put a request to Father Christmas for a new transmitter Spektrums latest antics have put me right off them, so I had my mind set on the Futaba T6K V2, but recently after many searches and comparisons the Graupner MZ -12 caught my eye, chiefly the price first attracted me. I've done searches on it and Flightest even have a half hour tutorial video of it with Graupners American chief of (something) and I'm sold! It's much cheaper than the Futaba but does pretty much everything the same, ok the Futaba is 8 channel whereas the Graupner is 6, but I don't need 8'channels anyway. Does anybody here have either of these transmitters? Interested to hear people's thoughts
  4. I wish I could find the instructions that came with it, knowing me I've read them all wrong.......

  6. Thanks Martin, I'm going to take advice and leave it alone, but I will bring the model into the house for the winter to avoid the humidity and damp. Again many many thanks for the advice chaps
  7. As per title really, summer of 2016 I went through an air rifle and pistol phase. As a result I have 4 small co2 canisters unused that have been sitting idle since I got bored shooting things in the garden. If anybody still uses co2 for vintage power or similar I'm giving them away. Can you post them legally is my only wonder? Anyway, if you would like them pm me
  8. Thanks for the replies I can't remember the make and it's buried deep in the wildthing nose. It's not eneloop though. Why the instructions said not to keep it fully charged I don't know then? Thanks again!
  9. Hi chaps, I wish to partially discharge my 4.6v square rx battery for the winter I charged it for my wildthing maiden and its only had about 20 mins use, the instructions advised keeping about a third charge in it for long periods of storage and I'm not likely to use it again till spring. I soldered an old torch halogen bulb to a servo extension lead and its very bright, (the battery in the pics is an old one and not the same make which I forget, that is in the wildthing). I then tried an old car headlight bulb to see if it would light, it does but I'm worried the current drain may be too much and damage the battery? I ask because I wondered if the car bulb would safely drain it quicker than the torch bulb . Advice appreciated   Edited By Tom Thomas on 04/11/2017 02:40:25 Edited By Tom Thomas on 04/11/2017 02:42:52
  10. Well, I removed the aileron pot and soldered it to the elevator wires (that previously worked) and got not a twitch. I'm going to assume that whatever the previous owner did damaged the pot Before I did that I noticed that the aileron trim contacts were soldered together see pic I compared it to the rudder trim and saw that it was not meant to be I did my best to remove the excess solder but it still wouldn't work. So I took the aileron pot apart and the only damage I could see were possible scorch marks from the solder heat maybe? Decide for yourself. Anyway, I've given up now but it kept me from shouting at trees for a while......
  11. Posted by Denis Watkins on 02/11/2017 20:15:50: Side to side stick movement is detected by the pots at the bottom of the gimbals The round things The wires on these are definitely spread in the picture and have been disturbed Get your magnifying glass on these Hi Denis, yes that's the ones I resoldered.
  12. So, my orange rx arrived and I got it to bind to the tx (even with its dodgy Ariel) . It seems that both sticks respond to up and down movement, but they don't respond to side to side movement. So I resoldered the connections to the rudder and aileron "pots" is it? But still nothing. I have noticed some chalky like mess on some bits of the circuit board, would this indicate burnt out components?
