Some models can get away with less ( and some have no tail at all) but 20% is pretty much the norm Stephen. No need for a wind tunnel as long as you don't stray too far from convention Stephen. Thank you very much! Most appreciated! Not a terrible amount of progress recently, have experimented with coverings or namely ways to tissue it. So far poly/water mic of 55-45 seems to be ok on test using 'mod-pod' as a sealant on the balsa. Finding it difficult to get dope locally.
  2. Thanks Percy, I have wondered on the rear of it.... and not once did it occur to me about warping the wing structure. Fuselage is being re-built completely now anyway thanks to the intervention of my deerhound! balsa is no match for his terth ☹️ Rear section will be upgraded as well. I did search but couldnt really find any 'rule of thumb' regarding size of tail section. I just surmised I would need to build a makeshift wind tunnel with car radiator air-con fans and polythene sheeting. 🙈
