    Thanks ED. Thought that may be the case I was hoping to avoid mechanical force if possible. I thought about applying the blowtorch but was concerned about the temper. I think the previous owner was a castor fan

    looking for advice how to loosen a stuck piston ring. Acquired a used Enya 53 four stroke. Ring looks ok but is stuck solid. Tried soaking in petrol, methanol, heating in oven without any joy. I’m keen not to destroy the ring if possible. Ted

I retained much of the original structure but used a bit of ply and carbon to provide some strength in the aft cabin frame. The model has had a tortured existence with engine issues resulting in deadstick arrivals first three flights then a forgotten servo horn screw in an aileron servo caused a significant crash requiring substantial rebuild. Still flying though.

    It’s slated for a 1/4 scale L4 Grasshopper so as long as it stays running I’ll be happy.

I was mainly concerned about reliability on glow but I guess onboard is a reasonable option. Thanks for the feedback
