I have been avoiding skinning my wing for as long as possible but it needs to be done! I am scratch building a 1/4 scale l19 bird dog from Mike Vailly plans. The wings need to be skinning in 3mm balsa.
People tend to glue up a skin large enough on s flat surface, then cover the whole surface in one go. I can see how this would work well with a straight wing where all the ribs are the same shape. Is this the correct method to use on a large wing with a taper? This seems like a recipe for disaster with kinks and warps?
