  1. Whoops. Please amend my latest posting to read Micro RX"s TKS
  2. I have just completed my first Micro indoor fixed wing aircraft. My conundrum is how best to fix the tiny uncased micro receiver without interfering with it's performance. Using double sided tape seems to be a bit brutal? Tips or hints would be welcome please? Thanks Chris
  3. Thanks for the info and suggestions, it’s never too late to learn from experience! SW
  4. From the plan it looks as if the nose area is very tight, maybe that's why the Hacker is suggested (21mm dia). As a matter of interest I did get the kit from Hyperflight. An ADH300L Front Mount is also suggested (about £15!) My real query/quandary is to ask if Hackers are really worth the extra investment as opposed a cheaper option? (£65 as opposed to £15?) SW
  5. I'm currently building my first 2M F5J Electric glider. The kit instructions suggest that a Hacker A10-7L geared motor is a suitable power plant. I've looked extensively at Hacker reviews with some bewilderment, especially with the price of this unit. Has anyone with more experience in this field of flight had any real experience of Hacker motors and their reliability please? Perhaps there are alternative motors I should look at? Regards SW
  6. Hello Modellers I recently purchased a Futaba T6K (V2) TX from Hobbyking. I note that the charging socket requires a jack plug of 3.5mm outside diameter rather than the larger plug/sockets fitted to other Futaba TX's! Despite an exhaustive search on the net, including an email to Ripmax (no response yet) I have yet to find either a suitable wall charger or an adapter lead of the correct size! Has any other T6K owner encountered this problem please or can suggest the right charger model to buy? Chris
  7. Thanks for the response Allan. I've just 'winged' an email to Ripmax. I did look at their trade site but couldn't then find any positive info. I'll wait and see for their reply. My TX has the option of LiFe pack, Dry Cells or the fitted NiMH pack. The recommended charger unit doesn't seem to be popping up online yet! Cheers for now Christopher
  8. I have recently installed a new optional NiMH batteryIn the Futaba T6K TX. I now note that the Charging socket is smaller than the Futaba plugs/sockets encountered before. It looks to about 2.5mm in diameter? The recommended charger is HBC-3A (4) not found online. Please can anyone suggest a source for the correct 'jack'/charging leads to fit this unit. I have trawled the net without success so far! Any help will be appreciated Thanks Chris (SW)
  9. Thanks Cliff for the tip. I’ll give the Microaces site a look. Regards Chris
  10. Many thanks Alan for the info, I will check the classified for more details. I had no idea that the model was no longer in production! cheers for now
  11. I have just read the favourable review of this little indoor flyer and now would like to find the kit. Despite several attempts 'on the net' I have been unsuccessful in locating a web site stockist.......any clues/leads from other flyers would be welcome please? regards SW
  12. Just to say thanks to all the helpful folk that replied to my recent Soldering query. I'm pleased to report that my 'mission' has been accomplished successfully, with a bit of practice as suggested! Happy modelling SW
  13. Thanks folks that's really helpful. I have a 'helping hand' to hold the connector, my real concern was about overheating the tiny plastic parts with too big an iron....I'll stick to 25w and go from there. I really appreciate the advice Christopher
  14. I would appreciate any tips on soldering XT30 connectors please? eg Soldering Iron wattage etc. I have a range of irons available 25w, 40w & 60w I have never attempted soldering this small type of connector before! Thanks SW
  15. Hubsan connectors; Thanks to all those helpful folk that replied, I'm now much better informed. Micro Molex connectors is what I need. It also appears that these items are sometimes referred to as LOSI Micro T Connectors (MCP-X) Male + Female, possibly the US version? Seasons best wishes SW
  16. Hi Please can anyone tell me where I can buy the 2pin battery connectors (male & female) as per the ones used on the Hubsan X4 PCB and battery? I've trawled so many sites without success so far! Merry Christmas SW
  17. Thanks for responding so quickly. I have also now received confirmation from the UK Futaba distributor that updates are only possible when using Windows compatible software. I'll probably steer clear of the Radio system, life's complicated enough as it is! Regards SW
  18. Please has anyone any experience or knowledge of updating this radio system using an Apple Mac OS MacBook Pro laptop? Futaba only appear to mention only Windows software in their internet published information. Thanks Chris
  19. Good Evening Glider Flyers After 30+ years of service I have just confined my 30M 8mm Surgical Tube Bungee to the 'bin'. Please can anyone suggest a likely site/supplier for replacing this type of tubing at a reasonable cost? I have searched around on the net but so far i have failed to find a suitable source. SW
  20. Thanks for the speedy response to my post, very helpful too. Having just left 35Mhz behind, well almost, I'm on a steep learning curve with regards to 2.4 Ghz kit. regards SW
