  1. Thanks to all those who replied. After taking on board the comments I think I will stick with my existing prop and make sure the brake is off.
  2. I would like to replace my current 2 blade 12x6 prop with a two blade folding prop achieving a similar watts output. I’m using a BL2820/07 motor and with a 12x6 prop I recorded 290watts drawing 27A, which is just about enough for reasonable performance of my Spitfire weighing 3.1lb, my spinner is 55mm. To make landings easier I would like to consider a folding prop but which size. Please can someone advise me what size folding prop could achieve a similar output. Thanks. Regards, Peter.
  3. Thank you to Leccyflyer and to Paul for your replies. I do like the look those Paul however I will first enquire with Vortex.
  4. I need a pair of exhausts for a 46" wingspan Spitifire. To be the correct size they should be approximately 110mm long. I purchased those in the photo 10 years ago and ideally I would like the same type but I can't find them anywhere on-line. Does anyone have a pair like this or any pair of exhausts of that size. Please let me know. Thank you. Peter.
  5. Posted by Bob Cotsford on 03/03/2020 22:39:40: Peter, I use FrSky radio with their own MLVSS or FLVSS 6 cell LiPo sensors. Gordon, I admire your faith in battery capacity checkers, most of the ones I've seen and used are consistently useless under 30% or so. As I have a bucketful of LiPo packs recording each ones capacity and adjusting the warning level every flight to account for ageing - nah, I'll live with monitoring the lowest cell thanks . I must look into using the six position switch to allow setting different capacity levels - one day! Thanks for that explanation Bob. I think I'm going to try that same solution.
  6. Posted by Bob Cotsford on 03/03/2020 12:07:44: I still monitor individual cell voltages on 6S packs, I like to know if one cell is letting the pack down. Total consumption is useful only as long as all the cells are healthy, it definitely needs to be backed up with a pack voltage warning. Bob. Please could you explain how you monitor individual cell voltages, what Tx you use and what telemetry receiver you use. Thanks.
  7. Thanks everyone for the replies. Gordon, you wrote: “Does the Frsky system announce when an individual cell has breached a chosen lower limit?” Yes it does. “These days I use my Spektrum telemetry energy sensors (I also have a Lemon Rx+energy sensor) to warn me when a selected value of mAh has been used.” Gordon I assume you refer to the SPMA9605. Are you also referring to the lemon LM0051 and are you confirming that this Lemon receiver does work with your your Spektrum TX and I can therefore assume that it will work with my DX6 gen 2, so I will be able to monitor mAh and set an alarm ? We all know that min.LiPo voltage is 3V. So I had not considered monitoring mAh. I guess several you are saying that monitoring based on capacity you are also controlling the voltage. Thanks again for responding.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Seems I should have looked into this more before posting. I only did that because the email I sent to Lemon went unanswered. Obviously it is not as straight forward as I imagined. I still think it is worthwhile to be able to monitor individual cell voltages so I will investigate FrSky further and consider switching to them. Regards.
  9. Hi. Using the telemetry capability of my Spektrum DX6 gen2 transmitter together with a telemetry capable lemon receiver is it possible to receive live data on the voltage of individual cells of the flight battery. I have looked at telemetry lemon receivers and found voltage referred to but my feeling is these references relate to pack voltage and not cell voltage. I would like to set an alarm on my DX6 to warn me when any lipo cell in the flight battery reaches a critical level say 3.3V. I am only interested in the cell voltages, not altitude, temperatures or anything else. I know it is possible to monitor individual cell voltages with a FrSky system and set an alarm. Is it possible with DX6 combined with lemon receiver ? Any advise will be much appreciated. Thank you.
