A very big thank-you to all who have replied. I know what to look for now, I thought it may be the case that transmitters would be interchangeable but thought I would check here first. I do understand how to calculate the receive crystal frequency considering the double conversion, so I am ok here. Also, would like to point out that yes, I am using my transmitter and receiver to control a drone, but my transmitter is just too heavy, (metal case) and a little larger than commercial offerings. I am new here as you will know and I am not sure how to close this post now I have the answers I need. If I don`t manage to close the post properly, then maybe a moderator could help me out. Dear forum, I have a few futaba FP-R138DF receivers in my collection. My question is simple, could you advise me what transmitter (make and model) would be compatible with this receiver type. I have a home-made transmitter at the moment, but it is too bulky for what I want to use. I know these units are old-hat now but there is a reason why I want to use them.
