  1. Tim, yes as you say it might just be a cheap pack, I cannot recall now.  I'll resolder and see what happens.   I have a fondness for some areas of leccy flight -  I love getting an hour or more of soaring from my Easy pidgeon, even if it does have a daft name!  My parkzone fighters also give a great thrill as they swoop over the grass at low level, But at heart i'm a glow man!   Thanks for the pointers anyway.   david
  2. Ive dismantled the pack now as i keep getting the "connection break" error message.  I am resoldering the wires but i fear the pack might be trash for some reason.  Oh well. I knew there was a reason I don't like electric flight!   d
  3. Tim, yeah I tried that but the charger chucked it off. I assumed that was the effect of the balancing circuits but maybe there's a fault with it.  I'll try again, thanks.   david   oh, re the swearing, sorry. i didnt appreciate that word was considered swearing by some.  Afear ye not!
  4. Ok this IS daft, but genuine...clears throat, here goes...   i have a lipo pack here made by G E power. The front says GE power, RC power.  Its a 3s pack but I have no indictaion as to capacity.  It is a white pack and the writing is red and yellow.    its hefty, so 2500 or some such, but because I dont know the capacity my charger refuses to charge it. Clever little thing.   Anyone recognise it?   david Edited By David Ashby - RCME moderator on 04/06/2009 15:01:59
  5. Now THAT looks like fun   Thanks for showing that. D
  6. When you consider that most builders write-ups one reads of warbirds usually have the line "I ended up adding 4lb of lead to the nose", I dont think your kilo is going to matter a jot!  It'll fly a little faster and land a little longer, the take -off will be a little more ground loving and the climb a little more shallow: but whether you will distinguish "little" I also doubt: I used to regularly chuck the odd pound of lead into slope soarers of MUCH shorter span.   basically, don't worry mate.   But do post pics, I love the Stuka. David
  7. It'll be fine but it seems a very expensive way to save buying two fuels.  You be better off buying some straight fuel and mixing fifty:fifty so you get roughly 7% for the aeroplane.   D
  8. Oh right. Well I'd go for balsaloc. paint it on generously then when dry you can apply the film as usual.   ref the hairdrier, I'm not sure as  I have never used one. I always use a heat gun, but its also easy to use a domestic iron on about "2"...try a bit out first.  DONT use THE iron or you'll be chopped off at the knees! Go and get a cheap or second hand iron, but better is a hot air gun like this    http://www.tooled-up.com/MicroCategory.asp?CID=4&SCID=27&MCID=571&Referrer=Google&gclid=CKKy5cDC-pgCFQ0gQgod4X5tlg blow the air over the film pressing as you go with a cloth.   If you use an iron just iron the stuff down gently -  but move quickly so you dont meelt the model!  And TEST IT FIRST!   However, I would try the hairdrier first: if it works you've won!  let  us know.   D
  9. You're a gent Sir!  I have that winging its rotary way to my door right now.  As soon as the SE5a is done, that'll be the next on the board.   Thanks David.   David
  10.  Some of these foams require either that glass fibre tape first or maybe a coat of balsaloc before the film. The film wont stick to the "soapy" surface of the wax.   D
  11. And I pop mine in a freezer bag to avoid ingress of fuel aand oil. D
  12. I am after the plan for Kestrel by Cyril Carr which was published as a free RCM&E plan in April 2003.   David
  13. Thanks david.  Ive looked at the myhobbystore and they do have it, but its going to cost me twelve quid!   I will buy it if i have to, but meantime...anyone got a copy of the plan I can have for less than twelve quid??? David
  14. I want one!!   Anyone got the plan they dont want?   David
