Many thanks to all those have responded, clearly there are differing views on how to make a start. The split is interesting, I will concentrate on sourcing a trainer and building it first, following that I will decide the most appropriate route. I want to find something to fill my spare time, I have limited space and I have decided to turn my hand towards model flying. Before I start doing anything I want to try and understand if there are any rules about where to fly. * Do I have be a member of a club. * Can I use any open space, obviously I would be vey sensible and make sure it's a long way from a built up area. Sorry if all this a bit naive but I don't want to join a club and look stupid because I cannot fly. Any constructive comments would be appreciated. Roy Carpenter
