  1. Sorry ....2nd post (copy) was an error I just wanted to say to ANDY above....Those pictures were amazing !!! 😉
  2. Thank You ALL for the advice...comments and sites to look through ...The same night I posted my initial post I decided to visit the CAA site and have a look at the 40 Multi choice questions ( 2am in the morning ) ... I dived in with the intention of seeing what questions it consisted of so I would know what to expect...with a pass mark of 30 out of 40 I gave it a go and got 36 right on the first attempt. Paid my £10 and have my OPERATOR and FLIGHT ID...BONUS !!! Just need to label my drone and I should be good to go...( I am aware I did not need this but wanted to start out with the right approach to become a responsible flyer. Just need to get my CARE FRESH sorted with DJI (belated) before I venture out, I am a sort of belt and braces guy and you never know what around the next flight and also need to get liability insurance through one of the Clubs. Still not ventured out the Garden yet, just need to find the right environment without ruffling too many feathers of Joe Public.. I just have to say that on researching the MINI 2 ( mainly on YOU TUBE ) it as an outstanding entry point piece of kit for the money. LIPO SAFE case and STROBES sorted and on standby for when I eventually try night flying, though have to wary of the added weight. Anyone know any friendly farmers in the ALDERMANS GREEN area that will let us NEWBIES fly around an empty field or two ?? Thanks again folks .......Tally HO !! .... once I make it out the Garden LOL !!!
  3. Had several TOY quad drones over the past years but ended up spending a lot of time trying to master the intricate balance of stability vs wind as a lot of these were not very powerful. Thought I would take the plunge and invest in a DJI Mini 2 after several research investigations and trawling through YOU TUBE. Before the purchase I did not really appreciate how much the regulations have now changed and the ensuing Minefield of legislation you can fall foul of. I just wanted to fly my new quad and get some good aerial footage of my local facilities,,,,canal etc .....as I live in Aldermans Green, Coventry. After getting to grips with the available controls and settings and a few lift off, landing and manoeuvring test flights in the garden and watching hours of YOU TUBE I now want to venture out into the BIG WORLD and survey it. I am aware the DJI MINI 2 is sub 250g and does not require training to be completed before using it, but that said I completed the CAA Operator and Flyer ID test last night and obtained those ID numbers to label my QUAD ( to remain compliant) I now face the challenge of where i can fly it locally without receiving unwanted attention. Can any current members suggest options where I can enter this amazing world of QUAD exploration...... Thanks in advance Shaun
