  1. Got mine,built it (pnf version) no problems with the build. going to install the flat cf strip in the booms today, different story with the electronics, nothing happened when i plugged my lipo in-well i say nothing there was a brief twitch a flash of the light in my rx....and thats it. so i had another esc from another plane connected it up to all including fan- hey presto it all works (including the retracts). off to hobbyking goes an email to customer support, to which i got an almost instant reply asking for a pic and order no ect, which i promptly sorted. well that was on Monday the 21st Jan- not a peep since..(i know its only been 5 days ) even after me contacting them three more times,Not that impressed!!! on another note ive heard somewhere about making the nose leg retract either longer or raising the mount to aid the take off??? can anyone confirm or point me in the right direction of this being done no flying today.... five inches of crusty snow on the runway
  2. Thanks guys for all the info, i did order the 60a plush and the higher powered hk ubec ...just for future fan/motor upgrades im looking forward to testing the vampire,its not my first edf by far just wanted something scale ish. have my eye on the vixen too Mark

  4. Hi i am planning to gt a weston uk velocity with a west .52 v1. i would like to know if there is anyone out there that has this set up or knows what the noise is from it. my flying site is noise sensitive at 82 Db regards Mark @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  5. Yak 54 all the way!! you really should try it , it's awesome, i just can't get enough of it@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  6. Thanks David for adding it to the review list. yes the noise is very nice. can't believe how quick it goes too, then very slow also. as i fly of the peri track on a disused airfield i have cross wind issues normally, but i think i could land her at 90deg to the strip as she comes in so slow@import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  7. Hi After reading the review on the E flite Carbon Z Yak 54 i decided to buy one, it arrived on my door step in a huge box-it felt like christmas, it took longer to unpack it than it did to get it flight ready MOST impressed with the packaging !!! anyway today i took it to the field put the supplied lipo in and pointed it into the wind stick full forward and well wow about seven feet and it was off, bearing in mind this was a test flight i set it vertical and it just went up like a home sick angel for what seemed like for ever. trimmed it with only two clicks of down and it was hands off, this plane is seriously good fun to fly either low and slow just out in front like a shocky, or fast and smooth like a warbird. landing is unreal no wind today and it just floated in for a three pointer. can't wait until next weekend to fly it again. All i can say is get one it does more than it says on the tin !!!!!
  8. Hi Stuey, im not sure of the kv rating of my red velocity fan  but i think its the first version. i used a Loongmax 2250 4s in it for about the last year-then i tried this new pack out about two months ago   and WOW it really does go like a rat up a drain pipe. i had to slice some foam out down the sides  not to much,then i glued some flat carbon strips to the sides.and the lipo sits well back in the cockpit. going to give it a blast today looks like a good day
  9. In my second phase 3  F-16 airframe ive gone down the poly c route with tissue and carbon spar. im using the lander Red velocity metal fan,and a 2650mah 40c 4s Zippy lipo,  not sure how fast it goes  but its QUICK- almost unlimited vertical, good 45 degree climbout. good fun!!
  10. Hi colin please could you tell me what lipo or lipos you are using, and any other bits i mite need to know, im hoping to build one soon                Cheers Mark
  11. Can someone let me know which pilot is a good fit and light weight for the P-47 cheers Mark
  12. Hi Timbo, did you have any probs with the retracts, one of mine although locked up still leaves the retract door sticking out quite a bit. love the finish of the kit its  superb !
  13. Got my P-47 friday wow heck of a kit for the money,fitted the servo slow-its great just got to sort out the flaps      I love it !!
  14. MFA Chevron  wish they would make some more !   i have an origional Gangster 63 done in red bull colours and markings
  15. ordered my P-47 now cant wait  also getting a servo slow and a 45a esc with a combined Ubec and will activate the flaps, can anyone out there inform me of any mods they have made?
  16. I saw one in Penn models too last week, ive ordered one now from a model shop for  a cracking price  £153.50 the cheapest around i think, cant wait this price is same to all -  no special deal for me!!!!
  17. Hi i have also replaced the servo in the wing that goes the normal way! as and when i need to do the other i just get a metal geared servo and buy a servo reversing 'y' lead, they work a treat ive used a few.   Hi shades im sorry about your problems   keep on with it because it really is an ace plane to fly im sure you will love it, i goes out with me to the strip every time i go-but i dont fly it in strong cross winds, only have two choices of take off direction as we fly from an old airfield.  good look and have fun
  18. just ordered a blade SR  hope its going to be good , have the msr and that is good fun. just hope we get some nice calm evenings
  19. Hope its going to be a flyable day tomorrow, the last few weeks have been poor.  newport and district model flying club is who we are  flying from the former ww2 airfield  RAF Peplow with tarmac runway with electric facilities portacabin water and heat- good stuff !!
  20. hi all   just to clear up a matter started on here, im nothing to do with inwood models except being a happy well satisfied customer !
  21. Just wanted to add my bit. the guys at inwood models are so helpful and do a good service and check out their prices
  22. Hi ive never had air retracts before, but have fitted some to my new graupner kwikfly and was not sure of the pressure either, so i used my foot pump until i could hardly pump it and i get about 5 cycles on trike retracts
  23. Hi love the look of this model, was wondering if the wing can be removed for transporting cheers Mark
  24. Hi Alan great to see your excellent flight of the A-10, they do fly in a lovely way, hope to be taking mine for a sortie or two and chase some other planes for fun! my 3000 lipo gives me good six mins of mixed flying with a little to spare. also it remains cool since i made the hole from the u/c nose bay. a little mod i have done is after having some probs on take off with the nose leg bending backwards -cured by glueing a block inside the bay directly behind the leg in locked down position-sorted! hope you have many more great flight with it           Mark Edited By Mark Jones on 23/03/2010 19:30:45
