Don’t glue 9g servos into the wings. Instead of gluing 9g servos into wings due to the limited depth of the recess, try using one of these servo mount designs which give free access to the servo. There are two types, one in which the frame is fixed down into the recess and the other which incorporates a servo cover and is fixed to the wing surface. These are 3d printed designs which are freely available on Thingiverse and only cost a few pence to make. Here are the Thingiverse links for the files and full details. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6859356 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6721166

This servo mount is similar to my original pop up mount but in this case it combines the tilting feature within a complete assembly which mounts on the surface of an airframe making it suitable for deeper pocket depths. It is designed to mount the Towerpro 9g FG90 servo. As with the original mount, if a servo needs to be replaced, or the servo arm needs to be repositioned then the servo can be tilted up for access. The whole assembly will fit into a 47 x 47 x 12.0 deep pocket and the servo can then be replaced by simply removing the 2, M2 clamp screws, tilting the servo assembly upwards and removing the servo. The pocket depth can be greater than 12mm but not less. It is freely available on Thingiverse and can be made at low cost by anyone with a 3d printer: Follow this Thingiverse link for full information . https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6859356

The 9g servo popup mount. This mount was designed to enable 9g servos to be installed into thin wings without the need for gluing which can cause problems when a servo needs to be replaced, or when the servo arm needs to be repositioned or replaced. There are 2 parts to the tilting mount, a fixed frame which is glued into the servo recess and a tilting frame which the servo is attached to and the pivot which is itself clamped to the fixed frame by 2 M2 self tapping screws. The whole assembly will fit into a 42 x40 x 12.5 deep pocket and the servo can then be replaced by simply removing the 2, M2 clamp screws, tilting the servo assembly upwards and removing the servo. The pocket depth is only limited by the thickness of the servo. Anyone with a 3d printer is welcome to make these for their own use, please click the following thingiverse link. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6721166
