  1. hi, just an update, maidend it yesterday with a bit of lassie going on but it was fine, then i got it set right and 2day i had it hoverin beautifull in the garden, thanks for the help every1! thanx again Torben
  2. mini pred (art-tech), they are really good, spares are cheap and they are easy to fix, also there are quite a number of aluminium upgrades for it.
  3. great, I will try again 2nite, any other suggestions welcome.... thanx again!
  4. thanks, i did think of that, but the only trouble is that there is no sensetivity dial on it, only the delay and limit, would it be the limit? thanx again.
  5. i have just finished building a century swift and have fittet a 401gyro and a Futaba.         S9254 servo, i also bought a new FF9. the trouble is that when i turn the radio gear on(in the heli after the tx is on) the gyro seems to set well, but the servo jitters and moves about half a millimetre either way. it does this for about five seconds, then it stops untill i move the rudder stick, then it does it again. Anyone got any ideas how to fix it? the DS function is on, the reverse is on, the delay is set to zero and the limit is set to 100. on the radio, AVC is on, rate up is 70 and down is 30, i havent done any mixing(gyro/throttle). Any suggestions are welcome, its going in to bet properly set up anyway because im not sure about a few things , but only in a few days time. thanx Torben.
  6. im 16 and ive been building since i was 9, first plane was a silent squire glider (dont know if any of you know it but its a great plane) and i still do quite a lot of building now, tho not as much because i fly helis more now that im limited on space.
  7. i fly a pred, its my 2nd heli and they fly great, quite stable and the flight times are really good 2. i got mine for xmas a year ago(2006) and i have never had any elecrical problems with it, althought i did crash it once and it stripped a servo. Its  good quality , and its strong and cheap to repair, there are also the upgrades you can get if you get the V2, but the V2 SE comes with all these fitted and the red boom. i know sum1 who flies a mini Titan, and he is really good at flying, he spends ages setting up his hellis and tuning them to fly super smooth, and wow do they look nice in the air(mini titans and his other helis). They are high quality kits, carbon and aluminium frames and head etc, but the prices are way different. The pred is 200 or the SE is 260, whereas the titan is 170 for the fuselage alone i think, but you get what you pay for.
  8. Im doing a school project and i need a bit of help: what is a good price? what is a good battery capacity? what size should it be? how light should it be? Does anyone know where i can get plans or one from?  any help appreciated thanx
  9. i have a mini pred, but im running it on a sanwa rd 6000 super tranny and id like to try out some 3d flying, how do i set the pitch curves etc so i can fly 3d or even fly it upside down(im far from doing tic-tocs etc)?
  10. Go for the hummingbird, its 99.99 in some shops, has good upgrades and is cheap to maintain. It also comes with a simulator and the Tx-Pc cable is included. It can take allot of abuse, i was drag racing with mine and pulled up at the end of the straight and the battery came shooting out because i forgot to put the elastic retaining band in. The heli hit the floor hard, rolled loads of times, but the only thing that was wrong after that was the blade paddles had moved a bit. I know guys who pylon race them, they crash allot, but the helis are fast to repair and the spares are cheap. Definitely go for the hummingbird.
  11. I have an art tech mini-pred which flies very well, but i keep wearing out ball links. I want to get anodised parts for it because it looks nicer, and its much stronger, but the mini pred upgrades are an ugly red colour, and I would like them to look nice as well as function well. Would other heli's upgrades (eg T-rex swash plate/ tail gearbox, etc) fit the pred or is there a way that i could get the parts in another coulour? Also, what would the costs be like? any advice welcome...
  12. Get a century hummingbird, their spares are pretty cheap for the quality, you can get good upgrades for them too. Whats nice about the hummingbird is that there are loads of clubs that fly indoors, and the hummingbird is perfect for this. They are affected more by wind, but that teaches you how to react to it and then flying bigger helis is much easier when you move on. You could also get an art tech mini pred, they are very stable and the spares are very cheap, a new set of main blades only costs £10, half the price of the hummingbird. You will also benefit from a more stable heli as it is larger. good luck whatever you get, and you will crash, so keep it low fow a few days.
