  1. Please can you send money instead of applause and I'll fund my next hobby off that....if you disagree......go wild, just not at me. Very kind regards Tom
  2. Do we get a choice of colour for our cotton wool or does it all have to be the same to stop others feeling intimidated.....It seems everybody wants to have the authority to have a pop at the next bloke. I had a chap come up to me on a deserted field and grill me about what frequency, and qualification I had and all the stuff anoracks love to "check" up on....(he made a point of telling me how qualified he was...although he didn't fly that day) I've made up my mind. No cert' for me and I'll use my own very common sense and fly just as safe as if I had one.
  3. I just don't get it..Why don't these guys just build a touch bigger and climb in the damn things?? they are very very impressive and I take my hat off to the "big boys". Imagine building one and flying it for the first time?
  4. hey Guys Thanx for the info, The servos do jump when switched on and sometimes when I turn the radio off the motor starts (I have the cuts to prove it) from what it sounds like the Rx crystal is knackered. I'll test it with a new set.....if any one has any tips please let me know. can the buddy lead affect things???
  5. Hi guys. After a flight I took my plane (leccy) home and stored her as per usual. The next day I took her out and tested her before going out(Like all good little pilots should)but nothing happened. When I flicked the switch on the plane the servos twitched as per usual but nothing when I tried the controls. The battery is full. the batteries in the radio are full. I tried my crystal in my dads radio but nothing. 1.Can my reciever get damaged easily? 2.Is the order in which I switch on and off critical? 3.Can Crystals get damaged easily? If any one can help me get my boomerang back up and flying I'd be grateful. regards Tom
  6. Ooooh ya beggar!!!! That looks like it hurt?. Just a hunch but I'm thinking the sudden stop might have somthing to do with the push rod giving way......Just tugging your leather. No idea but I love the photo. Regards Tom
  7. Fair point Thanx Tom
  8. Danny What about insurance? Do I need a cert to get that? Regards Tom

Hi Mike I think I have it now. I did the 3rd from leading edge test and hand launched her with no power. She glid(?) nice and straight nose down. I then powered her up and she flew great. I could still do with looking at that spreadsheet though. [email protected] Many Thanx Tom
  11. It's just that I've heard its hard to get a instructor to leave his own equipment and spend half an hour with novices. And then not all of them can pull out of a situation...I'm not against folk who need help I just prefer to to learn myself without having to wait for someone. Regards Tom
  12. Hi Guys brand newbie here Took my trainer out for its first flight. Completed two great flights (second one the prop pulled itself off and had my first dead stick) great landings on both. Then on the third I got brave and after a few circuits dipped the nose then pulled her up for a loop. It looked great and went all the way round. But at the bottom I turned her over to the right....Thats when the wing buckled. In stayed on with its friend but did not help the plane stay up. It nose dived straight in and burried itself about three inches into Mom. I pulled the fus out, pushed the nose together, put new glass poles in the wing and she is ready to fly 8 hrs later.
  13. Thanx for the encouragement Danny. I would rather bend my own plane, than have someone else do it for me. I do appreciate that there is a wealth of knowlege on a club field and hopfully one day i'll venture onto it and see how it goes. Regards Tom

The intructions are of the upmost quality and cover every aspect of initial set up of the aircraft. "Electrosise the battery firstly before you to fly the plane"???? But I supose whoever wrote that speaks better english than I can speak Chinese... Regards Tom
  15. I have a big push-me-pull-you all the bells and whistles(one or two missing) digital SLR but I am horrified at the price of lenses and the bits to go with it. Fly, roll, loop and in to land (just in case a moderator is watching) But I really enjoy going out on me tod and snapping away and being able to see the shots straight away. Any way what great tips do you have for a brand new flyer? Snapped a wing today pulling out of my first loop!!! Plane burried itself three inches in and survived. A very proud daddy.
