    Project mancave

Good idea and a very tidy space. Is that a rise and fall table by any chance ? Toto

    Project mancave

Looks like an excellent build there. As far as fitting out ideas go, I'd need to see a few pics to see where you are now. A picture paints a thousand words and all that. Looking really good and persevere with the pictures. Toto

    Project mancave

No worries, I'll get on to that soon. There is a variety of them all offering a similar product but with different sizes and colours and effects. So be careful when comparing them. I'll come back with it ASAP. Toto

    Project mancave

You have sort of prompted me there as I have done very little of late in the mancave. I have a load of accoustic tiles that need to be fixed in place and I need to start getting my head around my video editing stuff. I've been busy work wise of late and am about to change contract again ...... the constant turn around of a freelancer I'm afraid. Toto

    Project mancave

Great stuff, Mind the updates and some photo's. Are you taking power out to it at all ? Toto
  6. I'm not sure what's so confusing by the looks of the imojos ..... i can't see much from one eye ....
  7. Won't be going anywhere this weekend ..... regardless of weather. Took on an eye infection from what looks like a bite of some sort. Haven't lost total sight in the one eye but down to about 50% vision with it until the swelling goes down a bit. Saying no more ...... Toto
  8. I'll check the other hinges out later today as part of a full MOT and post a couple of images up. The model .... I thought .... was in pristine condition but it just goes to show how regular checks can still miss something like this. I'll need to locate my hinges and stuff as they were all put into storage when I done the mancave rebuild. Just another trying scenario. We shall over come .... Toto
  9. The hinges won't take long. I did thinkto myself that this could have been a field repair if I had been prepared for it with the right stuff. Foam safe glue and a couple of hinges and hinge fitting tool which I have ..... somewhere .... Toto
  10. Just back ..... one flight and the rudder decided to detach itself. It's one of those foam type hinges. So ..... I need to look out my spare hinges and do a repair. To be honest .... its very straight forward as it seems to be a clean break. So .... next weekend .... I'll take the repaired Supercub .... and ..... get my Arrows Husky set up properly as a stand in. I'll be taking two models to the field in future. Another typical day. Toto
  11. How do you find the coverings on them? They don't look like they will take much abuse. Very brittle type materials. Toto
  12. Hi Learner, Just heading out to the field with the Supercub in about 10 minutes. I have a stash of charged batteries and two fully charged transmitters ....... and some beautiful weather. I am still alive and well. Didn't bother posting as activity had been a bit low for one reason or another ..... weather, motor bike racing using our runway etc etc. I'll post up later with my latest progress report. Until then ...... Toto
  13. Absolutely ...... I thought it was never going to come again. Just need some continuity now. Toto
  14. At last .... 4 flights in today. Started off rough as a ragmans trumpet but as each flight past, gradually improving again. Overall, I have definitely taken several steps back but I expected that given it was last October since I have flown. Great to get back in the air though and hoping for a bit of a run over the next few weeks. Happy man again. Toto
  15. The nerves are jangling ...... will it or won't it. I'm going to predict .... a big .... fat ...... yesssssss. What could possibly go wrong Toto
  16. Back in the saddle.... On for Saturday... as usual transmitters charged as are LIPO's so good to go. I'll report in Toto
  17. No worries, I'll keep plugging away. I've no intention of throwing in the towel. Hopefully next weekend will give me my first big break of the year. In the hands of the gods. Toto
  18. So .... absolutely no progress or even a hint at a chance of it. Same for this weekend as the clubs second site is having its runway rolled. All pointing to next weekend ..... as I wait. What a hobby. Toto
  19. So ..... its this weekend then ...... we live and hope ..... Everything ready to go as usual. Here we go again. Toto
  20. And another call as I was packing my plane and equipment I to the car this morning to inform me that it's cancelled. Apparently out facility has been taken over by an athletics event. ..... beautiful, perfect day. ....... couldn't write a book like this. .....
  21. So ..... another call to my mentor reveals that we could be on for Saturday. Weather is looking favourable but there is still one potential hiccup ...... the possibility that a scarifier may become available which means maintainable at our second site. The scarifier is still to be confirmed. If it is available for Saturday then I will be on maintainable duties. ..... its a bit of a lottery at the moment .... fingers crossed for flying though ..... .... let's wait and see which way the dice rolls. I'm sure similar lights that I bought were about £18.00 or so a piece. I would thinkthe Lidl versions will be as good as any. Toto
  23. I think for me ..... it is a case of " small steps " to get myself back in to a confident mode again. .... a 4 month holiday after righting off the original Supercub, followed by a period of inactivity as I tackled the mancave which was a pretty big project that required my full time attention ( including weekends ). A few personal issues ( work and family related ) which I am just crawling out of now. This week is the start of a fullscale comeback as the new year starts. The stars are starting to align again so today was just a bit of a start to progress again ..... The Supercub has been maidened and has been agreed as fit to go. I and my mentor took the decision that I would not make my first return flight on a pretty windy day perhaps scaring me off again. For the sake of another week ....... I'd rather maiden myself under more favourable terms and have a more guaranteed new start. I get everyone's comments .... let's wait and see how quick the comeback is. My A test target is the beginning of June. Hang on in there with me. Toto
  24. Just back from the field. Cold and windy but the Supercub was maidened. I asked my mentor to do the maiden due to it being the first flight and the wind factor whichI was not keen on given the lapse in time from my last flight. He was more than happy to take it up. Only minimal adjustments needed to trim it out and despite the wind, it flew just fine. We decided between us that I should wait for more favourable conditions and not to take the chance of me flying today. I'm happy with that as even getting the maiden done is progress in my opinion. Weather not looking great for next weekend but much can change in the space of a week. One happy camper. Toto
  25. I remember what's where ..... throttle on the right.....aileronsto the left. ..... I'll be fine ..... Now ....... where is my hard hat ......... Have a nice day all Toto
