  1. Please note that Lodge Farm Flyers has now disbanded.
  2. New shipment arrived - 40 in stock.
  3. Lovely to see pictures with le soleil shining. one month's rain here today in 24 hours - Merde!!
  4. Greta post Pete. A lovely part of the world where we have have spent some great holidays. I assume everything stopped for 2 hours at lunchtime? Many years ago, along with fellow club mates, we took part in a model show at Valenciennes, and we were treated very well, including food and dancing in the evening - oh, and a plastic dustbin filled with red wine at lunchtime that you dipped your plastic cup in when you felt like it. We all went away with a commemorative plate and a silver (plastic) cup!! On pulse jets, I remember these at the Plumpton Airshows that Dave Bishop used to run. I cannot imagine them being allowed at a public show in the UK nowadays. Happy memories from an ex North Downs MFC member. David
  5. Er...yes, I do, and I also share a name with a certain chap who wears a hat and also plays guitar. Sadly, we are not one and the same otherwise I would be able to afford more models....
  6. Agree all round. I shall be replacing the JR plugs with the molex ones.
  7. Posted by Garbo on 22/09/2012 22:25:31: not an answer but these may help you out Garbo Thanks - HK support came back to me with this suggestion, and it may be that I shall have to use them (and add extra weight and congestion in an already tight fuselage space), but my main beef is that the model was not as described, and I have advised them so. I am hoping that they will provide me with the relevant bits and pieces free of charge as I do not see why I should buy more stuff that I would not have needed if the model had been as described. They also need to make suire the Hawks leave the factory with the micro connectors or adjust the description! David
  8. Christian Presumably yours came a while ago from the International Warehouse? David
  9. Posted by flyeruk on 18/09/2012 20:02:46: I have now had 8 flights with the Stinger, and thats 8 flights with no crashes. I nearly lost it on the last flight though.I was doing a very wide, fast turn and nearly lost orientation. It became a small speck in the distance.I kept my nerve and just kept the same input on the sticks and she came around. Its so easy to let her get too far away. Im really enjoying flying this jet,the only criticism i have is the paint comes off very easily. Any ideas how i could stop it coming away? Edited By flyeruk on 18/09/2012 20:03:48 I have given mine a couple of coats of Skin-Crylic from Falcon Aviation. It brushes on easily, dries clear and gives the surface a nice sheen and protects from minor dings and seals the decals nicely. Brushes wash out in water too. I did ask HK if they had a colour match for the decals so that I could touch in some areas that had flaked off out of the box, but they said "Dunno..."

  11. I was one of the fortunate few who snapped up one of the 12 Skyangel Hawks that appeared in the Hobbyking UK warehouse recently. It looks very pretty, but the servos now come with conventional size plugs, and not the micro plugs as described on the website and as depicted in the photos of the model. Now faced with changing the plugs over to micros to fit the RX I specifically bought on the basis of the model description I have notified HK UK. Anyone else got the same issue? 12. Carl Have just noticed your post - take a look at this thread a bit lower down (if you have not spotted it already...) Great little model. **LINK** David
  13. Posted by Bill_B on 31/08/2012 15:02:49: Hmm, HK UK have just blotted their copy book: I ordered a kit that was "in stock" and paid for 24hr delivery and it hasn't arrived two days later. Bill Not good, although I plumped for the 48 hr delivery and HK/Parcelforce delivered on time. My Stinger is now in quarantine until my birthday next week....... David
  14. John I suspect it is going to be a while before UK stock builds up to anything like the International warehouse levels, if ever. Also, anything desirable that comes in will tend to fly off the shelves very quickly as they are not generally available anywhere else in the UK, and are competitively priced. That said, on 25 August HK Admin posted : - "we're now starting air-shipments as well as containers this will reduce out of stock on small items. We will have pickup service soon. Nano-tech container is being shipped out next week." Early days yet.... David
  15. Posted by Bill_B on 26/08/2012 15:12:31: Edge, the Stinger benefits from having the fan balanced and if only short bursts of throttle are used, it'll handle a 4s 1800mAh - 2200mAh LiPo. Mines holding up well so far on 4s. Anyway a Radjet 420 is on it's way to keep my trusty old Funjet company. Edited By Bill_B on 26/08/2012 15:13:08 Bill Have been ploughing through the reams of Stinger posts on RC Groups and it seems that 4S on the stock set up is a bit of a risky strategy given the rating of the ESC and motor. The temptation to hold WOT for a bit too long is likely to be too much! I shall fly with 3S and maybe upgrade later if the need for speed is too difficult to resist. The stock Stinger looks to be a good, robust and fun model - should arrive today with any luck. Enjoy the Radjet. David
  16. Well, finally decided to buy a Vampire from HK and.......ordered a Stinger. Reason? I realised I would have to get more 4s batteries for the Vampire right now, whereas I have shedloads of 3s lipos. Also the Stinger seems such a good flier that I should be able to have some fun with it without worrying about it too much (I do prefer scalish stuff really). Happy Birthday me!
  17. Tony Do you have an unusually high and large collar perchance??!! Actually it is my birthday next week so I am devising a strategy so that I can buy myself one of the above without guilt. Strangely, the T28 does nothing for me (and there are plenty of models of these around), but the impending HK Sea Vixen is a must have......... Dave
  18. Like the strip! I bought the Panther first and I agree it is great fun. Have not tried to launch it myself yet, but will try one day. The MiG seems to fly in a more "locked in" fashion than the Panther, as I had some weird dutch rolling effect last time I flew the latter, although I need to fly it more to see if there is an obvious cause for this. Don't really care, as I love them both - they are superb fun for the money as you say and actually are pretty well finished and detailed for a foamy of this size. Will try and take and post some flying shots soon.
  19. New stock is indeed in - can't decide between a Stinger, Vampire and Durafly Corsair - this is simply not fair!! By the time I make my mind up I expect they will all have gone.......
  20. Just maidened mine and it went really well. Many posts on t'internet about hand launch problems (initial zoom followed by inevitable fall to earth),  However, with a firm level push it pulls away nicely and grooves smartly.  A bit quieter than the F9F Panther from the same stable. Anyone else flown theirs yet ? - Merlin Innovations must have sold a few of these at the shows......  Edited By Edge on 24/08/2012 20:26:51 Edited By Edge on 24/08/2012 20:27:54
  21. Good luck Harry. I like the Panther so much I have bought the Mig 15 !!

  24. Harry The Panther flew yesterday evening, and very good it was too! Pulled away well from a hand launch (by my friend Jon) and grooved around very well. Slowed up nicely for landing and was good fun all round. CG was at 344/345 mm from the front of the intake, balanced inverted - this photo is of the top of the starboard wing : The Lipo I used was a 3S Zippy 2200mah 20C that weighs 165g. This seems to work well and was barely warm after the flight. Perhaps my cooling mod worked, and it was helped by not having it at WOT all the time. The replacement 40 amp ESC is a definite good idea for a larger lipo. This photo shows the lipo position : Another friend is about to get his in the air, so we shall report further - good luck with yours. Cheers David
