  1. Yakmad, thanks for your reply,at some point i would be interested to know if the aircraft in your club were set up as per instructions ie c of g 143mm. What engine they use,the crashed one used a OS 91 with the battery as you say to the rear part of the tray towards the rear half of the wing.I'm hoping i might be able to upload the video to UTUBE if i can find the time.
  2. Hi, no it did'nt stall,it did fly but uncontrolably, level flight appeared impossible. My first words to him was "thats tail heavy" as he wrestled it around the sky.Based on your calculations and other comments from another forum everyone seems to be of the same opinion regarding the c of g. I believe that Ripmax are the importers of TopFlite he will be taking it up with them this week, but i doubt if he'll get any help.Unfortunately the fuzz is unrepairable.
  3. Gentlemen ill keep this as short as possible. Having met a club member at our field last Sunday for his first flight of the above mentioned plane which im afraid to say lasted less than 30 seconds. My question is this, the instructions clearly state that the c of g should be 143mm back from the face of the wing where it butts to the fuzz or in english 5" 7/8". With a root cord of 400mm.This seems too far back, needless to say as we all know a tail heavy plane normally only has one flight,as this one did. Would anyone care to comment, are the instructions correct?. I do have a short video of the flight. All flying surfaces were correct in there functions and throws were as instructed. On a good note its a superb kit to look at (before the flight) Has anyone flown one of these, any help or comments would be appreciated.   Many ThanksEdited By harley1 on 13/10/2009 23:56:04
  4. I really would like this one please,i'm not getting any younger .
  5. my son would love one, come to think of it so would i.
  6. thanks for your input gents,i can see i'll have to give this a bit of thought, what a choice.its just like sending a women into an empty car park.
  7. sounds ideal,i presume the futaba does the same, and if im not much mistaken both set's are a similar price. The only hang up iv'e got with the spektrum is the two recievers. Most of my models i would'nt have a problem fitting both but my large Stuka i would struggle to find space.I suppose it could stay on 35 meg as its not flown that often.
  8. One of the specific reasons i ask is this, having just finished a large extra 300L i could have done with a radio that allows you to adjust the throws and trims on both the elevator servo's independantly. My 2610 dose'nt have that facility, because one of the servo's has to be reverse mounted the servo arm come's to close to the tailplane limiting its movement.
  9. sorry timbo,i should have said futaba ff7  2.4 or spektrum dx7  2.4,maybe i should start again. Can the title be changed!
  10. Having read many different threads concerning both makes but general problems aside is there an advantage to one as oposed to the other.Your thoughts would be appreciated. thanks
  11. For me its gotta be westland wizard gloster gladiator hawker hurricane As a descent size around 64in and 4 stroke power
  12. evan,os suggest 12x8-13x6,however ive been useing a 12x8 for a couple of months and in all honesty it pulls my wot 4 round the sky far better than my irvine 53 which it replaced.considering the os55ax only cost £76 its a bargain in my book.along the prop spacers route, motors & rotors who supplied the g sonics took my grip on board and supplied the spacers free of charge which secured my continueing support to them. timbo,i note your comment about the old grey graupner props but you ought to try the new g sonics i prefer them to apc's now.
  13. I did try fuel tubing, not a good idea in my book.carbon rod is an idea, but why have i got to buy a lenght of carbon rod with a 6mm id because they dont fit. but what i cant understand is a prop manufacture like graupner making props to big, that don't fit something as basic as a 46-53 size motor.
