  1. Aye I've sent a email over to my nearest club since was only contact I could see on there page, if I don't hear back I'll pop down one Sunday after new year, thankfully radio gear I'm already set with since I have my trusty Frsky X18
  2. It was the 49", looking at price online of 59" I'd probably just go with a bigger petrol powered ugly stick from another company, I'm leaning towards Wot4 at moment with a .46-55 motor (more likely .46), it's just I dunno why but I kinda like look of boomerang and lot of people say it flies really well in wind but Wot4 be more fun outta 2, I'm trying not to rush the decision cause I have tendency to do that and then regret or hum and haw over if I made right call
  3. Thanks mate, now I got another plane to mull over ha
  4. So while browsing the stuff I'll need to buy I came across 2 more planes that interest me, the Seagull Ugly Stick and the OMPHobby Challenger, now the ugly stick is good bit more expensive then what I originally was intending to spend so I'll probably keep that one in mind for next summer however the OMP looks to fit the bill from what I can see so far, looking on YouTube it also seems good fun however has anybody here had any experience with the plane? I have there 380 sized Heli and it's a solid bit of kit so I have no real worries on quality more so flight characteristics I guess
  5. Hahha very true, to be honest nowadays all my cars except a couple 1/5th 2 strokes are all electric, just much more explosive power and they remind me of quadcopters in that way
  6. Thank you mate, admittedly I did like look of the Seagull challenger, spacewalker (63") and the acro wot, so I've got plenty of models too research and decide on As for IC I do have plenty of experience with nitro engines in cars but not sure how that translates over to plane engines, I like the idea of going IC but not 100% dead set on it. Also want to thank everyone that's helped with advice so far, you guys have been extremely friendly and helpful
  7. Sorry for possible dumb question but does this still apply to modern OS engines like the AX2? Or have they fixed the liner?
  8. Thanks for that mate, I have 1 club pretty much round corner and 4 more not super far either
  9. Oh wow, thank you mate for letting me know, the few places I had looked were £155-170 so massive difference, I'll deffo go OS route now
  10. Thanks mate, I have to admit OS was always solid for me aside from leaky front bearings (99% of time), but that wasn't a hard fix back in day, having something I can fly year round no matter weather conditions is pretty much what I want, as for it being ugly I don't mind it too much honestly, I do feel like the blue on EP model they sell looks better
  11. Thanks, I had a look last night and seems like Force 46 and OS 46 is main choices when buying new, is there much difference? I did run OS engines in my teens in buggies but not sure if worth spending half as much again (£60 more) Like I said has been good few years but I'm gonna get out one of my foamies when weather improves to get feeling back, the Wot4 certainly sounds more fun then boomerang though Aye I need to look up where my local clubs are again, I'm pretty sure I've got about 3 local'ish ones I'll take a look at them mate thank you, I guess I was just mainly looking at 2 I was due to not flying for awhile, I'll also look up some 4 strokes, I have to be honest I didn't even know you could get em in 4 stroke, I assumed it was just typical nitro or electric
  12. Hi guys, I thought this would be best spot to ask my questions, I'm not a total beginner (flying for around 8years) but I have just returned to hobby after couple years away so I am pretty rusty. I've recently took up Heli flying and it's reignited my love for flying RC, I've always flown foam planes, mostly EPP flying wings and now have a itch to try a balsa model out and I'm also thinking of going IC rather then electric but not 100% set on that yet I've been looking at mainly 2 planes, the Wot4 ARTF and the Seagull Boomerang V2, I want something easy to fly, and also something that flies well all year round, especially considering crummy year we've had. I learned all my flying solo but thinking of maybe taking step up and joining a club next year, especially with all these new rules and laws coming into effect nowadays Anyway thanks guys for any advice
