  1. Martin, Thanks for the info,I'll check it out,I've had Peter's plan enlarged by 20% which gives  a wingspan of 64" and the canopy seems to be 'in between sizes'. If i can't locate a canopy it looks like i'm building the first open cockpit Cap 21,how does a two seater side by side version appeal. regards Jim
  2. Peter, I've started the enlarged version of the CAP 21 and the canopy could be a problem,Steve davis is on the case and trying to source a suitable size canopy for it. I've fitted a SC 32 to CAP  Junior ,what a difference, the engine is not ' run in ' yet and the performance  is magic, goes like stink. Nice to hear the wolf went well and hope to see it soon.
  3. Peter         New one looks the biz, your name should now be   Peter and the Wolf. How did the test flight go ? I was looking through some old mags and came across one from 1983 with a guy standing in front of a Steen Skybolt holding amodel of an Evans Volksplane, ring any bells. JIm Carss
  4. Shaun / Peter I must own up,the colour scheme was influenced by the Gemini bipe in this months mag. Shaun, just had a look at yours on the gallery, nice one ,your colour scheme appears to make the model look very sleek. Being retired and totally   "in to it" i can turn out one a month as long as i keep the war dept. (her indoors) happy, regards Jim
  5. Peter, This is the latest, Miss Lizzy the 4th. just awaiting cowl for the finishing touch,SC 46 power,Just the job. Lokking forward to the new designs. Jim
  6. 212.photobucket.com/albums/cc214/tiggermoth/IMG_0964.jpg. Peter, Just trying this photobucket for the first time, see if you regonize any of these models. regards Jim carss
  7. Peter Nothing too exiting on the first flight, loops and rolls and generally getting a feel for the model.I have SC25 fitted but i think a 32/36 may be in order before  trying any advanced aerobatics. I have a SC52 ready for the bigger version, like yourself I reckon these motors are great value for money. As soon as the big one hit the board i'll let you know. Any advance  info on the new designs or will we have to wait and see?. Regards Jim
  8. Hi, Hope this helps if you're into building, Traplet have a plan of the Starlet at 82". Plan costs £9-60 regards  Jim Carss
  9. Peter, I built your Tequila Sunrise way back when and fitted Ivine 46. What a flier. So impressed I scaled it up 72" with Irvine 61 power and it flew just as well. My Cap 21 got its test flight yesterday and its a dream. Now  have plans scaled up by 20% and this will be the winter project. The Sonerai flies  just as well so keep them coming, I'm now busy with second Miss Lizzy for one of the club members. First one went around the club and is still flying well. I did'nt have any problems building from the free plan. I'm surprised there has'nt been any feedback on test flights for the Sonerai and Cap21. I had an email from a chap in South Africa requesting pics of the Sonerai radio installation which he picked up from Sonerai plans help on the forum. It's good to know that there is international interest. Regards Jim Carss
  10. Hi Guys,I hope this helps, there is a plan for the Sea Vixen in the RCM&E plans service.its by John Wright, designed for a 61 pusher,The plan No.is RSQ1607 at £14-95. JIm Carss
  11. Hi Chris I have just completed building the Sonerai and it's now at the covering stage.Ihave used standard servos throughout,3 in the fuz and one in each wing for the ailerons. The throttle servo is between f2 and f3 along with the battery and receiver and elevator and rudder servos are between f3 and f4.I have fitted a Slec 4oz. tank which requires moving f1 forward !/4" to acommodate the tank and prevent it protruding into the battery bay and fouling the wing fitting. I am using a SC25 two stroke and it fits like a dream. The building instuctions are first class and easy to understand so you should have no problems there. The only mod i have done is to fit a servo in each wing, never been to good with bell cranks. The canopy is cut from a pop bottle and fits well. Send me an email if you so wish and i'll send you some pics of the installation.I'm off to Cyprus next Wednesday for two months so you better be quick. [email protected] Cheers Jim.
  12. Peter Send me an email and i will send you some pics. of the wing fixings. [email protected] Jim
  13. Fellow Pioneers,I completed my model two weeks ago along with a couple of cheats and a few mods.I am just waiting for the Northumberland gales to abate to do the test flight. My model comes in at 4lbs 8ozs all up weight with the battery above the tank. I think this is due to the lightweight balsa construction of the cowl. The model is covered with silver solartex apart from the upper fuselage which is covered with white profilm.I have been following the thread on the forum on the Pioneer with great interest. My mods include fully enclosed elevator connection, which helps to tidy up the rear end. I have never been keen on elastic bands so I have incorporated aluminium tabs attached to R1 which locate in a ply plate across the top of the cabin. This means the first cheat is the upper cabin glazing. The second cheat is the slots in the tailplane. My slots consist of black Solartrim applied with great care to simulate the slots. Are we getting too technical regarding the weights of covering materials etc? In my experience adding paint (which ultimately adds extra weight), is unnecessary with todays lightweight covering materials. The designer of this model (well done Chris)used minimal paint application. One other mod I have incorporated is a sprung Olio leg which allows the undercarriage to give a little. If anyone wishes to show me theirs I will show them mine ( hee hee). Chris Reid, what have you done? This must be the model of the century! I will be delighted to communicate with anyone regarding the model and discuss any problems. Obviously the proof of the pudding is in the flying and I will report back as soon as I have completed my test flight. I can be contacted on [email protected]
  14. Hi Barry,my TN mk9 is all ready to go and certainly looks the part, regarding the paint i found that Wilkinsons spray can grey primer is close enough for the overall colour, managed to do the green cammy with one titchy pot and the air brush.I had to obtain the canopy from cambria models(fun fighter) and it was a tad too short so cockpit mods were called for.
