  1. This. I was planning on over powering and making top ailerons to turn it into a super stearman but im not overly confident with the airframe. I will not copy the formers however I may design and build a proper 1:4 super stearman if one of my contacts comes up trumps.. I'm not holding my breath though.
  2. It's genuine Flair. I've got the box the instructions and all the sheets of die cut parts. Nothing had been sanded as its been pulled out of the die cut sheets. A bit of 240 removes the harsh edge and splinters.. no such luck this time🤣
  3. This is just a no. Even with the strips doubled up its wrong on so may levels.
  4. Much of the same here... I think given the opportunity the craft my snap around the middle CA is quite brittle. With torsional loads plus stress from take off and landing it may end in tears.
  5. Multiple scarfs in a row that don't follow the minimum 4:1 raitio. 48" lengths required that will put any scarfs needed at either end of the fuselage at low stress points where the is additional ply formers and stringers
  6. It appears on further inspection I'm having to undo a lot of the work that's been carried out. I don't know if it's worth logging this unbuild build.. might be worth a laugh and education.
  7. Yes I'm the same, keep it tidy and it's all good. I earn my money so I'll spend it on what I want as long as bills and other nonsense is paid for.
  8. I think it is set up for a laser, once I have all the framing done I'll look at re adjusting the firewall to hang a radial. Thanks James
  9. There has been a development......
  10. I will probably save my pennies up and get a seven or nine cylinder radial. It would be rude not to. I may even change the undercarriage for the robart ziroli gear... I may also do none of the above if I can't find plans.
  11. I've got the lot apart from drawings. It's not really possible to build the rest without plans unless I had another completely built one next to me. I have plenty of experience and if needed I could design, manufacture and build a new one thats even better than the flair model.. but its not worth it. And it wouldn't be this particular bunch of wood. I will keep looking for the plans this end but I hold not much hope as people do like to "clear up to help" ( throw importantish stuff out) It's mildly infuriating. Regards James.
  12. Thanks! its a Flair kit. I have instructions, a partially built fuselage and port lower wing a fully built horizontal stabiliser, elevator rudder and fin.. I'm estimating the kit is from 2002ish.
  13. I've inherited a partly built Stearman, I would like to get it finished. I think it's all there apart from the plans. Can anyone help? Regards James
