First few flakes and everyone is at action stations and plans are pulled out of the woodwork. They care not when us up here are thigh deep and even 4wd is not a guarantee of getting up the hill.
  2. Properly snowed in for the first time ever!!!!
  3. It was my first ever model. flies great and even a fool like me managed to put it together without any help!!! Not sure if they have updated it for brushless and LiPo power. mine flew on NiMh and a very expensive 400 motor and gearbox. Didnt know any better at the time and that was the recommended setup. Not difficult to adappt but they might have made the changes in the design...
  4. Mad as a bag of cats you must have been. I was stuck in Darlington and they had plenty snow down that part of the world.  Going to have to put a Brass plaque on that fence the way Enrico is going on recently... thats twice in one week hes hung one on there. Enricos fence that runs along Anderson road
  5. Plenty here.....Nearly didnt go to work....

We(Ken, Mike, and Tread) had really good laugh as Tread struggled with a flat battery flight. Will see what tomorrow brings!!! Tread doing his submariner bit again? He definitely needs a periscope on channel 5 and posibly a torpedo or two that lad..
  7. Don't know what it was like down there but you would have to be mad to tried flying here today. Should i take a photo of the snowman with tx in hand???
  8. Enrico flew the Talon for me as I have a severe case of nerves till something has flown at least once. Too much movement on the all moving tail but showed a lot of promise... Adjustments now made and waiting for a day when there is not 30 mph+ winds and snow....
  9. Going to pop it in the boot tomorrow and see if i get a chance to lob it off the sluice...
  10. Cheers Wor'Keith. I am hoping it will fly in Alula/Easyglider winds but be a bit more exciting than the Easyglider. Time, i suppose, will tell.........
  11. Now i know its been a while but i have eventually finished.  Here she is: 50 inch span and weighs in at 1lb exactly. not sure if that is good or bad as there is no mention of target weights in the manual. Strangely satisfying building with Balsa after mostly EPP kits. I even manages to learn how to use the film covering properly after watching the video on youtube.  BUT, best of all was the discovery of the "crafty cutter" why are people not shouting aboutthis from the roof tops on here. Its a revelation. Anyway, Not had a chance to fly it but will report back as soon as the deed has been done..
  12. Poly nonmoderator........What whent on there?

So laws should now only be made by people with experience of life, say over 50.  And you would only vote when you reached 21  and knew enough to vote sensibly. You really think anyone under the age of 25 actually votes? I suspect not many do.
  14. Just rebuilt mine. Double layer of cross weave and vinyl sign covering. Its a bit porky now at 31 oz . Do you think I might have over done it?
  15. Is that slowed down??????? If not then that is bizarre....
  16. Cheers Timbo and Tom.. Those ones you linked too are not how i imagined them. I had visions of something "let" into the wings with minimum surface area on show. Maybe I heard what i wanted to hear. I shall wait and see it there are any more offereings before making a decision..
  17. Youngest offspring loves the noise the moulded exotica make on a low fast pass. Me being the parent of two can has neither the cash or skills to obtain or fly such things.  Now, i have heard of some whistles that can be set in the wings and make a lot of noise. This would please offspring and allow me to take him sloping and keep his attention..  Any ideas where i can get some from? Google seems not to be of any assistance in this instance..

  19. Hoping to get out on the slopes tomorrow. Just finished fixing the black pudding Fart again after a loose ball of EPP got into the Jack socket and rendered it useless.  Never again will i get a model that you have to hack open to get at the internals. Still the one flight it has manages was ace and i will probably need to add a bit of tail weight to put a smile on my miserable face.

From my limited experience the combat type seem not to ask for glue whereas the more sport/race type do.. Mr Slopetrash might have a more definitive answer..    Interesting... but one still wonders why that would be - if anything, one might expect the opposite - the combat stuff being more likely to have its clothing ripped off! As you say...Mr E may be along to educate us all furtherStill agree with Iawnski though...its a devil of a job to use it without making a mess of the model, myself, or usually both    Possible explanation might be that the combateers might be expected to be recovered many times in their lifespans where as the racers might not...  Seems plausible to me anyway
