  1. Hi gg  As yet ive not noticed any colour fade but i guess it will happen, could use photo paper and a good printer(which i dont have)  but for the few pence it cost to do it on normal paper its feasable just to make new ones,   Terry. My other halfs tutor 40 has pink pro film tips on the upper serfaces and has the same effect in most lights.A good learning aid   Ian
  2. easyer still...find what your looking for(or make your own in paint shop) print out on normal paper, cut to size shape then apply clear stickie back with an over lap of about 5mm and just place it where you want it on the model..works for me. Ian
  3. Im with paul on this one,,i first sprayed useing there own thinners, now use only cellulose with no probs darn sight cheeper to,,sales ploy i think. Ian

  5. ok looks like a lot want a moon lizzy (lysander)or a pby..same here .. of around a 65 inch(ish) wing my 3rd would be a bolton paul defiant ic or leccy not fussed. Ian
  6. And thank you for the link lindsay, ita a wonderfull day out and hope to go again this year. Ian
  7. Thanks shaun. Im not much of a jet fan but some great pix. Ian
  8. pitty really as so many shows suffered from the poor summer, may be the mags just have to much other interesting stuff to fill the pages. cant get anought info on them new foamie toys the size of a gnats wottsits may be someone reading this has some pix to share.   Ian
  9. David thanks for the quick reply, i would like to see some pix of this day as it was great fun.   Ian
  10. Hi can anyone tell me if there was any report in the rcme on this event(raf shawbury scale day 08).as i i know there was a reporter(if thats what thay are called) there, If not is it going to be in an issue at some point?   Ian.
  11. Bugger me im clever. all donations to the artist greatly receved(cash only) so how that goes simon. Ian.
  12. Simon  the air cadet logo was made by my good lady(its her chippie) in photo shop, its a six layer mesh. main crest was from a cadet homepage the rest was made to suit from a pic of a real aircraft, I tryed to post the file but i cant do it(pc numpty),
  13. ken..decals were done as i have said in my 3rd entry here...printed on photo paper from the web then covered in clear stickie back plastik(blue peter style) with a querter inch over hang all round, cheep and cheerful. As for seeing the real thing the RAF dont use them now, think there is a couple withe the mamorial flight.googleing dhc1 might be your best route. clive.. just read the link as im thick dose makeing a reverser lead mean the wireing in the servo has to be altered?? can it not be done by swaping the +- over on the lead? Ian
  14. ??? reversing y lead??? whys that then..  I guess this is to make the servos go the same way when the dile is moved. Im prity sure i got over this by useing on direct drive servo and one in direct one(both futaba) saves the prob of finding or makeing an the y lead, being totaly honest(after 20 or so years) i didnt realize there was such a thing as a reversable y lead..is it home grown(if so how) or is it buyable.   Have fun ken its a great model, nice simple build albe it with the few quirks mentioned.  I would say its deffinatly worth customiseing the chippie in some way ,,ie change the reg or add some scale decals of some sort just to be diffrent (cant have all these chippies looking the same you know just aint cricket). It wont take much.. http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb277/namustang1a/DSCF1066.jpg see  Ian.
  15. tail wheel realy lets this kit down. its the only thing that constantly bugs at the feild. ether leave the cover off or do as i have done use dubble sided tape and keep some in my flight box, works ok for me.
  16. Clive im sure its a 57mm spinner from irvine, hope that helps. Seve i use around 30 deg usely but can go right down to around 70 degs if oon a short strip, best is to play about with them then set to your faverite. best of luck and happy landings for '08
  17. thanks,,decal is an image from the web then printed and coverd over in clear sticky back plastic with a quater inch overhang then put on to the fuz(cheeting is always the cheep option)...sc 91 4/...spinner in pic is a replacement after suffering from thrown props, the original has a smooth back plate and was not griping.new one is an irvine one and i nolonger get the prop drop.. ps decals on the p51 on same page are done the same way
  18. if its ok ill give my opinion on the tailwheel.....it sucks.....the under wing pan wasnt to bad not a good fit but i glued one side then the other.... very pleasing to fly and looks the dogs danglis in flight. ian. gallary page six.... http://www.longdon-flyingclub.co.uk/index.htm
  19. mines just fine on the 91asp , lovely to put together, flaps work well to.
  20. Im looking at retracts to..is there room in the nacelles for both them and tanks? i will be putting servos in the wing and modifying it so the wing is removable,a lot of work but worth it i think. have you any close up pics os the retact area?
  21. Ok thanks shaun....mines just a kit but am looking forward to getting stuck in....one other question.....is the whole model one peice as it looks to be on the plane? Have fun on your renavation.
