Hi, I remember reading about a device that provides receiver power in case of an issue with the main supply, e.g. UBEC / ESC failure. It was in the Counterpoint section of a recent RCM&E issue. I can't find it and was wondering if anyone else remembers reading it and can tell me the details. Recent could mean a couple of years! Thanks, John

Posted by John Shiell on 11/10/2009 15:38:06: Hi all, I have succesfully flown my lander f-16 in these are my settings. Hope it helps somebody. Battery 4C 4000mAh Hi Model from BRC hobbies ESC - 60Amp Mystery Fan is the lander 800Watts alloy one UBEC from BRC hobbies Using Spektrum 2.4GHz equipment. To much interference with 35MHz CoG position 98mm back from wing/fus join. First impression is that this is conservative. Neutral elevator set when bottom elevator surface flush with top of fus. Weight 1.55kg Thrust test result using kitchen scales. IE place nose of F-16 on scales to weigh the model and then run the fan. Got up to 2.9kg so approx 1.4kg of thrust. Flying - Flys really well and doesnt need full throttle for fast scale like flying. Take off on tarmac is achieved with a faily long run. Don't try and coax it into the air too early. It almost flys off itself with my setup. Duration is 4 mins of faily fast flying (40% full power). Still had 1500mAh left in battery so could probably stretch to 5 minutes. Have set flaps but not used them yet. The F-16 does fly quiet slowly without flaps. Landings are faily easy but need to keep approx 1/4 throttle on. Dont just shut the throttle. You need to fly it all the way in but its not twitchy or fast. Really pleased with the model /setup. If you want any more info then I may be able to help Forgot to say that i also fitted a thrust tube tapering down to 55mm at the exit. John -

Hi Everyone, Just bought a Lander F-16 in the prototype red, white and blue scheme . Really happy with quality of the kit. I am new to edf so will be asking lots of silly questions. From trawling the forum it seems that 7 9gram servos are needed for elevators (2) aelerons (2) and retracts (3) plus one metal geared micro servo for the nose wheel steering? There seems to be choice of fans so am thinking of buying the lander alloy fan and motor and fitting a 4s battery. If anyone has any comments on my initial thoughts please let me know. The main thing for me to work out is what ESC to buy. I presume I need to run the radio from the flight pack but need to be careful of voltage drop etc. I am on the bottom of a super steep learning curve and the investment is not small so want to do it right. Any help from an expert would be gratefully received. Can't wait to fly it - now where's that couple of hundred pounds I need! I'm also in the market for an edaquateLiPo charger as well. John
