Hello,
I've been trying to start my Irvine 61 after it's been sat for some time.
It has brand new bearings and o-rings. Compression is great and it turns over nice a smoothly.
The carb however, when trying to set it using the fuel tube and blowing through it method, the high speed needle seems fine and the more I open/richen it the more air you can hear and feel flowing through. The low speed needle, takes quite a lot of turns out/richer to even begin hearing the tiniest amount of airflow, and I can keep turning it out and it does not seem to make any difference, still only the tiniest noise and flow.
I eventually got it started with the low speed needle about 2mm proud of the housing, which is way richer/more out than any of my Irvine 53's. Once started I could increase the throttle but only slowly, like it was too lean and if I went quick it would die. If left to idle ,it would run for maybe 15 or so seconds and then die.
I did a quick check for any debris but couldn't see anything. Any suggestions?
I'll take the carb off the engine tonight for a better look.
Thanks
