  1. main needle is just under 2 turns open.
  2. Hello, I've been trying to start my Irvine 61 after it's been sat for some time. It has brand new bearings and o-rings. Compression is great and it turns over nice a smoothly. The carb however, when trying to set it using the fuel tube and blowing through it method, the high speed needle seems fine and the more I open/richen it the more air you can hear and feel flowing through. The low speed needle, takes quite a lot of turns out/richer to even begin hearing the tiniest amount of airflow, and I can keep turning it out and it does not seem to make any difference, still only the tiniest noise and flow. I eventually got it started with the low speed needle about 2mm proud of the housing, which is way richer/more out than any of my Irvine 53's. Once started I could increase the throttle but only slowly, like it was too lean and if I went quick it would die. If left to idle ,it would run for maybe 15 or so seconds and then die. I did a quick check for any debris but couldn't see anything. Any suggestions? I'll take the carb off the engine tonight for a better look. Thanks
  3. If all else fails I may try that. Will give it a few days or maybe even ask just engines if they could do that for me if they have the correct size nipple. Tkanks
  4. In need of a silencer for an OS FL70, the one with the 2 nipples for the feed of oil back into the crankcase from the exhaust. Thanks
  5. Hi all, I am looking for a second hand four stroke to put in my 2m wing span J3 Cub to replace the non runner os fl70 that's currently in it. I've got 2 second hand ones to choose from currently and looking for some advice as I've only ever had 2 strokes. Option 1. OS fs70 surpass for £80 and has run recently, still in good condition with good compression etc. Option 2. ASP 80 for £60. Not run in 18 months but turns freely with good compression. Which one?
  6. Hello all, I've just acquired a much loved but well used Hangar 9 J3 Cub 40 and am wanting to find some spare parts for it to bring it back up to its former glory, if you have anything lying around for this model let me know! Thanks
