Ok first post - please be kind Have been flying an easystar but where I stay it's a bit windy and on a stock setup not enough power, time to move to bigger and better I hope. I have settled on the New Multiplex Mentor. The stock set up is, I feel over priced and possible a bit dangerous (?) as the ESC is rated at 45Amps, but looking at this file from The Multiplex Web Sit, some set up require a 60amp speed controller Multiplex Power Sheet So I figured on building my own, and thats where the fun started. My thanks to BRC Hobbies, Flight Power and there UK Distributors for their innvaluble help Here is the planned setup. Multiplex Mentor Motor Wasp C3548 900Kv (700W) Brushless Motor (eqv 2826). brc965 From BRC Hobbies (If they have it in Stock) OR Wasp C3542 1000Kv (450W) Brushless Motor (eqv 2820). brc963 Again from BRC Hobbies. May stick with the second for training and upgrade to the second as I get better. Any one got any thourghts. ESC HM 'Professional' 60A, 2-6S, S-BEC, Brushless ESC. brc018 Again From BRC Battery Looking at the following(x2) - any good ?? OR an EVOLITE V2 4250mah (x1) as it is twice the price and my other half has put a budget in place, both (4s1p). Going with more Volts and Less current 4S 4800mah 22C Stack The recommended servos from Multiplex, are they any good ?? 2 x MULTIPLEX Mini HD servo (elevator / rudder) Order No. 6 5123 2 x MULTIPLEX Tiny MG servo (ailerons) Order No. 6 5122 1 x MULTIPLEX Tiny MG servo (aero-tow release) Order No. 6 5122 And the Multiplex 6015 Charger or something similar And something like a 12x6 prop (?) Have come accross the following from a german web site and he has upgraded to a E-Flite .46 and advise that the model can now do 3D arobatics - beyond me - but proves that the model is strong enough. Video of craft in flight Any Comments welcome, especially about the prop size, also how long a flight would you get from the batteries ??
